The invention consists in the novel features and in the combinations and constructions hereinafter set forth and; claimed.
In describing this invention reference is had to the accompanying drawings in which like characters designate corresponding parts in all the views.

In Figures'l and 2, the unit is shown as in upright position or as a pillar with the socket member 7 serving asa foot piece and the T shaped coupling member llfas coupled to a member 1 arranged in horizontal position by the bolt 21 extending through the slot 2 of the body of the main member arranged in horizontal position. The construction shown in Figures 1 and 2. is adapted to support shorings for floors.

WVhen a T shaped piece is to be provided at each end of a main membeiya tongue or coupling piece 8 is inserted in the foot piece or socket member 7 ,as shown in the lower end of Figure 7 so that a T shaped coupling-piece can be mounted on the projecting end of the coupling piece or tongue 8 and bolted thereto.
In Figures 6, the form is shown for supporting the shorings of a concretewall and the horizontal members are secured to the .vertical members as shown at 25, also spreaders 26 are shownas connected to the ends of the bolts which secure thehorizontal members 1 to the upright members 1.
- It is obvious that by reason of this unit consisting of a main body 1 of channel iron having the tongues 4 and socket piece 7 and the T shaped coupling piece 11 and tonguesS, an indefinite number of arrangements is p0ssible for forming walls, columns, floor forms, wall forms, scaffolding, towers, etc.
What I claim is: i 1. A frame unit for scafiolding,
shorings,
forms and the like comprising a main body forming with a lengthwise slot and a tongue at one end of the body in line with the slot,
and a Tshaped coupling piece-interchangeably mountable on the endof the body andon the sides thereof said coupling piece havmg its leg bifurcated for'receivin'g the tongue,
and its head being provided with openings for receiving clamping means when the coupling piece is arranged with its head against a side face of the body, one of said openings being arranged to come in line with the slot. 2. A frame for scaffolding, 'shorings, forms and the like comprising a mainbody .formed with a lengthwise slot having a tongue at one end extending lengthwise thereof in line with the slot and with a socket at the other end of the body for receiving the tongueof another main body, a T shaped coupling piece inter: changeably mountable on the tongue and on aside face of the body with the head of. the
T formation. against the side face of the body,'the leg of the T formation being bifurcated for receiving the tongue when the coupling piece is mounted at one end of the body and for receiving the tongue of anadjacent body when the coupling piece is mounted on the side, of the body, means for clamping the T shaped coupling piece in either ofsaid positions, a detachable tongue for entering the socket for fitting the bifurcated leg, and a T shaped coupling piece for the socketof another main body;

A frame unit for scaffolding, shorings, formsv and the like comprising a main body formed with a lengthwise slot having a tongue extending lengthwise thereof at one endand a'socket at. its other end for receiving the lengthwise tongue of a duplicate main member and a couplingpi-ece interchangeably mount-able on the tongue'at one end and on the side face of the main member, the cou-j pling piece having openings arranged to re- 'ce'ive a clamping member extending through the slot when the coupling piece is mounted on one side face of the main member and an opening to receive clamping means when the coupling piece is arranged on another side face of the main body, said coupling piece being T shaped with the leg of the T being bifurcated for receiving a tongue, the head of the T being perforated for receiving said clamping means extending astride the main member when the coupling piece is mounted on the main body with the head against one side face of the main body and for receiving clamping means extending through the slot when the coupling piece is. mounted on a face of the main body through which the slot opens.
5. A frame unit for scaffolding, shorings, forms and the like comprising a main body formed with a lengthwise slot having a tongue extending lengthwise thereof at one end and a socket at its other end for receiving the lengthwise tongue of a duplicate main member and a coupling piece interchangeably mountable on the tongue at one end and on the side face of the main member, thecoupling piece having an opening arranged to receive a clamping member extending through the slot when the coupling piece is mounted on one side face of the main member and openings to receive clamping means when the coupling piece is arranged on anotherside face of the main body, said coupling piece being T shaped with the leg of the T being bifurcated for receiving the tongue, the head of the T being perforated for receiving said clamping means extending astride the main member when the coupling piece is mounted on the main body with the head against one side face of the main body and for receiving clamping means extending through the slot when the coupling piece is mounted onaface of the main body through which the slot opens, the main body being provided with teeth along one side thereof and the head of the T being provided with complemental grooves for receiving the teeth.
6. A frame unit for scaffolding, shorings, forms and the like comprising a main body formed of opposing channel iron members spaced apart and forming a slot, heads at opposite ends of the main body, one head being formed with a tongue projecting lengthwise from one end of the body and in line with the slot, and the other head having a tongue extending between the end portions of the channel iron of the main body and formed with a socket complemental to the first tongue, and a T shaped coupling piece having a bifurcated leg, the coupling piece being interchangeably mountable on the tongue with the tongue between the bifurcations and on a side face of the main member with the head of the T formation against said side face, the head being formed with perforations for receiving clamping bolts teeth on the side thereof through which the slot opens for coacting with the teeth of a duplicate main body lapping the same, the slots receiving clamping bolts. y In testimony whereof, I have hereunto signed my name, at Syracuse, in the county of Onondaga, and State of New York, this 6th day of July, 1931.
