The present invention relates to calendars, and more lparticularlyv to calendars vvof that type which are in block form'and are suitable either for hanging on a Wall or for use L@ on Writing'tables, desks, etc.

It is the object of the invention to generally in card form, the containers for the cards are' apt to be ofcomplicated construction.

leaves ofthe calendar are composed of a transparent material on which there are pro vided opaque sections bearing the date and the day, the Vname of the month being furnished on a separateepaque sheet arranged at'the back of the transparent day through 'all transparent sheets arranged in' front thereof. j i

A particularly advantageous form of embodiment is obtainedV by utilizing the remaining portions of the opaque sheet bearing the name of the month for` the display `of ad vertising matter, announcements, etc., which thus remain visible through 'the transparent day sheets throughout the Whole month;

In a form of embodiment of a calendar of the block type, transparent sheets for the dates and the days of the Week, opaque por- Y i tions on the said transparent sheets bearing the said dates and days, additional opaque portions on the said transparent sheets for the purpose of making notes, and opaque sheets each bearing the particular month and any other desired information, advertising matter, announcements, etc., in bright coloration on a dark background, and adapted to be situated behind the said transparent sheets and be visible through the same. In a form of embodiment of a calendar of the block type, transparent sheets for the dates and the days of the Week, opaque por- Y tions on the said transparent sheets bearing the said dates and'days, additional opaque portions on the said transparent sheets for the purpose of making notes, and opaque sheets each bearing the particular month and any other desired information, advertising matter, announcements, etc., in luminous colors on a dark background, and adapted'to be situated'behind the said transparent sheets and be visible through the same.
