In a device Vof the kind described, the combination withl a magnet member formed of laminations and comprising an E-shaped portion of which the middle arm forms a pole posed at right angles to said E-shaped portion`,of a sleeve of magnetic material on said' pole piece, a second pole piece securedto said piece, parts of said laminations being dis` i' parts of said laminations and disposed around said sleeveto provide an annular magnetic yfield between the first-mentioned pole piece and said secondpole piece, a diaphragm7 andmeans reactingwith said field Vfor actuating'said diaphragm.
