The present invention relates to ycablesjwith attached pompons, and an object of the'invention is to provide-'a novel clamp to which the pompon may be secured. Another object of the invention is to provide a novel means of securing the pompon securing-wire to the clamp. Still another object of the invention 'is to provide a novel manner of holding after,

One end ot the cable has secured thereto a clamp comprising,in this instance, two arms e and 5, engaging opposite sides of the cable and connected beyond the end of the cable by a portion 6 which formsa loop or eye. The upper or free ends of the arins are provided with tongues or pointed projections 7 which are forced into the cable. Between theseprojections and connection 6 the arms are tied together. This is secured, in this instance, by

The combination with a cable of a sheet metal clamp having arms formed to embrace opposite sides of one end of said cable, a con-- necting portion between said arms beyond said cable end, said arms being integrally provided with one or more projecting portions for securing engagement with said cable and with cooperating portions for tying said arms together to clamp` said cable therebetween, a pompon secured to 'said connecting portion, and a errule positioned about said clamp. j

3. The combination with a cable, of a clamp for the end of the cable comprising two arms engaging opposite sides of the cable, a connecting portion between the arms arranged at the end or" the cable, andtwo projections carried by opposite sides of one of the arms and interlocking with the other arm.

4. The combination with a cable, of aclamp for the end of the cable comprising two arms engaging opposite sides of the cable, a connecting portion between the arms arranged at the end of the cable, and interlocking means carried by the two arms for tying the two arms together independently of said connection.

5. rl`he combination with a cable, of a clamp for the end of the cable comprising two arms engaging opposite sides of the cable, a connecting portion between the arms arranged at the end of the cable, one of said arms having an opening, two projections carried by the other arm and extending into the opening to tie the arms together.

The combination with a cable, of a clamp for the end of the cable comprising two arms engaging opposite sides of the cable, a connecting portion between the arms arranged at the end of the cable, one of said arms having an opening, two projections `carried by the other arm and extending into the opening to tie the arms together, the ends of said projections passing into the cable to anchor the clamp to the cable.

7. The combination with a cable, of a clamp comprising'arms engaging yopposite sides oi'v one end ofsaid cable, means connecting said arms beyond said cable end, projecting portions on the ends of said arms having securing engagement with'said cable, and interlocking means on said arms between said connecting means and said projecting portions for tying said arms together independently ot said connecting means.`

8. The combination with a cable, a clamp for an end of the cable, a pompon secured to said clamp beyond the end of the cab-le, a errule surrounding the clamp, and a ferrule securing means supportedby said clamp.

9. The combination with a cable, of a clamp Vsecuredto the cable, a pompon, a ferrule 'surrounding the clamp, and a pompon lsecuring wire having means thereon for securing the. ferrule.

16. A grip strap for automobiles comprising a cable, a pompon, a clamp secured to one end of said cable, a ferrule about said clamp and cable, and means for lsecuring said ponipon to said clampV having one or more portions extending along said cable end for cenA tering said errule.
