The combination in a projecting machine, of a lens, a pair of shutters mounted to rotate on parallel axes uniformly spaced relative to a central plane of the lens and disposed in a plane parallel to the face of the lens, and the means for driving said shutters at the same speed and in opposite directions.

The combination in a projecting machine, of a lens a pair of shutters mounted to rotate on spaced parallel axes disposed in a plane parallel to the face of the lens and so that their edges are brought into overlapping relation as they are rotated, and means for synchronously driving said shutters.
