` signed primarily for Wells fromA which4 a lil large amount'rof water is pumped, such as ycity wells an'dvvells for pump irrigation, but it is -o lbe understood that a casing in accordance With this invention may be employed for any purposes for lwhichitmay be found'ap'plicable, and the invention has for its 'object to provide, in a manner as ,hereinafter set forth, 1r well casing formed of aiplurality of superimposed, connected together, L tubular, concrete units, each provided with a, series of spaced, superposed," circumferentially eX- tending vrows of spacedopenings of pyramidal'c'ontour gradually increasing in width and breadth from the 'outerto vthe inner'face of the unit whereby provision is set up for sand or'other matter thatfstarts through the openings from the outside of the unit to quicklypass thrugh'to the inside ofthe lat'- ter and be pumpedout.
Further objects of the invention are to provide, in a lmanner as hereinafter' set forth, aY well casingformed of apl'uialityof detachvably connected'concrete vunits and' which is simple in its construction and arrangement, strong, durable, compact, thoroughly efficient when used, readily'assembled andcomparatively inexpensiveto'set up. y Y y lVith'the foregoing and other objects in view the invention'consists of the novel construction, combination and rarraiig'emen't of parts as hereinafter more specifically described, and illustrated in the accompanying drawings wherein is shown an embodiment of the invention, but it' is to be understood that changes, variations and modifications can be resorted tor Which fall within the scope ofthe claims hereunto appended. n v
