This invention relates to dolls and partic- A ularly to that class of doll commonl alluded to as a rag doll, and one feature of t e invention is the provision of means for removably t attaching the arms, legs and head forming portions of the doll tothe torso thereof.

A further feature of the invention is in so constructing the parts of the doll Athat such parts may be opened and the filling therein :J removed so that the cloth portion of the doll may be washed and then repadded and secured together.

A further feature of the invention is in so constructing the parts of the doll structure that said parts may be very cheaply manufactured and assembled.

Other objects and advantages will be hereinafter more fully set forth and pointed out in the accompanying specification. In the accompanying drawings which is made a part of this application,

Figure 1 is a front elevation of the doll structure.

Figure 2 is a side elevation thereof, and, Figure 3 is a perspective view of the right leg removed from the torso of the doll.

Referring to the drawings, the numeral 1 designates the torso of the doll structure, referably constructed of washable material and filled with any suitable filling material,

such as cotton 2 or the like, the material being constructed in the form of a bag, open -at one end, for the introduction or removal of the filling material, the open end of the torso to be stitched, or otherwise closed, as shown at 3, Fig. 1. The edges of the material at the several openings are folded into bead forma tion, as shown, and then stitched together. This leaves the threads in position to be readily severed when a new supply of filter medium is to be introduced.

The head forming portion 4 has also a stitched portion 5, so that the filling may be entered therein or removed therefrom, while the leg forming portions 6 and the arm forming portions 7, likewise have stitched portions 8 and 9, respectively, for the same purpose.

The head portion 4 is removably attached 5 to the torso 1 by means of loops 10, which are vattached in any suitable manner to the head will be held in substantially rigid position on the torso.

The upper ends of the legs 6 are likewise provlded w1th loops 12, which engage with buttons 13, or the like, at the lower side ortions of the torso 1, while the inner ends o the arms 7 have loops 14 secured thereto, which engage w1th the buttons 11 on the shoulder portions of the torso.

It will be seen that, if desired, the loops may be given one or more twists around the buttons, thus preventing the loops becoming casually disengaged from the buttons and determining the position of the arms and legs wlth respect to the torso.

By assembling the parts of the doll together in the manner shown they can be uickly dlsassembled or assembled, and the lling material may be quickly removed when the parts are to be washed, and again quickly returned to the several parts and the openings stitched together to close the same.

It will likewise be seen that the cost of production of a doll of this nature will be very small, at the same time permitting the use of good material, so that the doll will last indefinitely, especially in view of the fact that the several parts thereof may be repeatedly Washed to render them sanitary.

What I claim is:

1. A doll comprising a torso having a button on each shoulder, a head member having loops which engage the shoulder buttons, and arms having loops which also engage the same shoulder buttons; whereby the same buttons serve to disengageably secure the head portion and arms to the torso.

2. A doll comprising an independent head and neck portion, a loop extending forwardly from said ortion, a loop extending rearwardly of said portion and a loop extending from each side of said portion; a torso having a loop attaching means on the chestv thereof, serving to engage said forwardly extending l loop of the head portion/to prevent ieidimg of the head .portion i'ewwmodify9 n, oop nttaohin means on the beck ont seid torso, suhstantia 1y opposite the attaching means on the chest, serving to engage the rearward loop of said portion to prevent yielding of the head forwardly, loop attaching means on the shoulders of said torso serving to4 engage the loops on the sides of said portion to pievent yielding of the head sidewnys, and arms having loops which also engage the seme 10o attaching means on the shoulders of sai torso.
