Description

RADIATOR CONSTRUCTION Filed Aug. 3, 1929 2 radiator will be improved.
Theloose baseandtop membersmay bef cess, cannot be adjust Patented some 1931- air en as 'Ame; 2i ears?- 3am e in :Denme'k ea s:
The present ini' ention relates to abaseand top member plants;
The distinguishingfeature of the invention '{5 is that the radiator rests on a base cons'istk ing of a pair of sidepieces which maybe connected to a frontpiece, while similarly a pair I of corresponding side pieces, and between I I these a front piece, are disposed on top of I 10 the radiator, there being provided-on top of these side of marble. I 7
By this invention the advantage is attained that a chamber is formed above and below '15 theradiators in which chambersthe supply anddischarge pipes with the valves belong-i ing thereto may be hidden, so that ,allthe pieces a cover plate, for instance pipes joined to a radiator will be perfectly invisible, whereby the appearance of the arranged in such a manner that they may be used for radiators-of d iflJere-nt dimensions,
and they are extremely easy'to assemble and I to take apart again without any tools.
At times it may be of importance to "be able to dispose the said supply and discharge pipes vertically along the sides of the radiator, withoutthe said pipes thereby becoming I visible, and it may also be a drawback that the total height of the radiator concerned is determined by the height ofthe radiator I units and, consequently, for instance when I the radiator is to be erected in a window re- I ed to suit the level of the window'sill. 1 7
Another object of the inventionfis therefore to connect the base and top members by means of intermediate members which may be adjustable in vertical direction, so that the upper cover plate ofthe radiator may be I adjusted to suit the level of the Window sill, I ducts for pipe lines and the like'being at the same time fo members.
The invention iszshown on the drawings, where Fig. 1 shows a radiator in front elevation Fig. 2 shows one of the base members in top-view r I for radiator'sjfoij central heating rmed inside of the intermediate.

:For smaller radiators the base members 2, are used in such amannerthat the extensions 3,-turnytowards the rean' and the cover 6 maythen ibe-pivoted about abolt between the lugs 4,:and inth'ecase ofa wider radiatorthe 2 '7 'side piecesareturnedin such'a manner-that the extensionsfifface towards the front, and. the cover 6 is vthen pivoted laboiitthexboltfi i l between i-thelugsi ln {The top 'membersvare arr angedinithe same 'ma'nner andconsist of twohpi'eces 7, o'nes'idej l of-w'hifch is fittedwith extensions 8; ,Here vtoola bolt 5 is: provided',,between the sideBQ pieces,"and= the bolt serves as pivot iEor "a swing-cover 6": Hereby a space closed. at frontand'on the'sidesi-is formedfiabove and below thegra'diator in which space the supply and discharge pipes 9,;10 withthe adjusting 5. In the construction. shown in Figs. 5-7 1 indicates the radiator units resting at both ends on base members 2. In these base members intermediate members 13 are inserted i base members are interconnected by means and at the top the intermediate.members sup:

Atthev sides the intermediate members 13 may be .closed byplates 1a of suitable material, in such a inanner that cavities 15 for I pipesyfittings and the like are formed. As .mentioned above, the intermediate members 13 ,may'slide in the base member 2 andthe top member 7 and :the" topmember can be held securely at any desired level by means of devices such as'screws or the like not shown on the drawings.
Having now described my invention, what I claim as new and desire tosecure by Letters Patent is r I 1. In combination, a radiator including pipe connections and regulating means for the supply and discharge of heating liquid, and a base and a top, said radiator resting l on. the base and-supporting the top thereon,
said base and top beinghollow andforming chambers accommodating and'concealing the pipe connections and regulating means, said base and top each including a plurality of parts and a movable front member connect ing said parts, each part being of unequal dimensions at the-front and back permitting 4o p1pe connectlons and regulating. means for reversal thereof to accommodate the base and top to radiators of varying sizes.
- 2. In combination, radiator including the supply and discharge of heating liquid, and a base and fa'top, said radiator resting onthe base and supporting the top thereon,-
- said base and top being hollow and forming hers accommodating and concealing the pipe connections and regulating means, said base and-top eachincluding' a plurality'ofparts and a movable front member eonnectingsaid 1 parts, and hollow intermediate members connecting the superposed parts. of the base and top and being of. hollow form.
4.; In combination,=a radiator, including pipe connections and regulating means for the supply and discharge of heating liquid, and a base and a top, said radiator resting on the base and supporting the top thereon,
said base and top being hollow and forming chambers accommodating and concealing the pipe connections and regulating means, said base. and top each including a. plurality of parts and a movable front member connecting said parts, and hollow intermediate members connecting the superposed parts of the, base and top and being of hollow form, each intermediate member and the parts of the top and base associated therewith forming an extensible unit permitting its application to radiators of varying height.
In testimony whereof; a-fiix my signature.
