below the warp threads T, it is not very convenient for the weaver to grasp and move the support 30. Accordingly I have provided means by which the support may be readily moved from a point above the warp.
For this purpose I provide brackets 50 (Fig. 6) clamped to end portions of the cross bar 20 and having upper and lower bushings or guide eyes 51 and 52 for a cord 54 which extends through the brackets and guide eyes and has its opposite ends secured E9 the sliding support 30, as indicated in 'Ihe brackets 50 extend up through the warp between certain of the warp threads and the upper bushings 51 are above the warp. Consequently the upper run of the cord 54 is also above the warp and in a position readily accessible by the weaver from either side of the loom. The electric bulb 33, while below the warp, can be readily seen through the warp when illuminated by contact with a fallen. drop wire.
I have thus provided for easy and rapid indication of the location of a fallen drop wire, which indication may be given without requiring the weaver to make any search for the fallen drop wire or to attempt to look under the warp and stop motion to determine the position of the fallen wire. The weaver is thus enabled to determine very quickly whether or not the loom has been stopped by the warp stop motion and if so, the exact location of the fallen drop wire.
Not only does the light indicate the general location of the fallen wire, but the fallen wire is rocked upon the contact bar 16 when engaged by the cross bar 41 and such rocking movement of the fallen wire separates the adjacent drop wires and warp threads, giving a further and more specific indication of the exact location of the fallen wire.
Having thus described my invention and the advantages thereof, I do not wish to be limited to the details herein disclosed, otherwise than as set forth in the claims, but what I claim is 1. In a loom having a warp stop motion using a plurality of drop wires, an indicat ing device comprising a contact member sep- ,arate and additional to said warp stop motion and manually movable along a predetermined path crosswise of the loom below the stop motion, and means to give a visual indication when said member engages a fallen drop wire.
2. In a loom having a warp stop motion using a plurality of drop wires, an indicating device comprising a contact member movable crosswise of the loom below the stop motion, an electric bulb, and an electric circuit for said bulb adapted to be closed when said member engages a fallen drop wire.
3. In a loom having a warp stop motion using a plurallty of drop wires, an indieating device comprising a contact member movable crosswise of the loom below the stop motion, an electric bulb movable with said member, and an electric circuit for said bulb adapted to be closed when said member engages a fallen drop wire.
4:. In a loom having a warp stop motion using a plurality of drop wires, an indicating device comprising a contact member separate and additional to said warp stop motion and movable along a predetermined path crosswise of the loom below the stop motion, means to give a visual indication when said member engages a fallen drop wire, and manual means to move said member crosswise of the loom.
5. In a loom having a warp stop motion using a plurality of drop wires, an indicating device comprising a contact member separate and additional to said warp stop motion and movable along a predetermined path crosswise of the loom below the stop motion, means to give a visual indication when said member engages a fallen drop wire, and manuallyoperated means to move said member .1.

6. The combination in a loom as set forth in claim 5, in which said manually operated means comprises a cord extending crosswise of the loom above the warp and accessible from either side of the loom.

In a loom having a warp stop motion using a plurality of drop wires, an indicating device comprising a contact member movable crosswise of the loom below the stop motion. an insulated cross bar mounted in fixed 1i pos1t1on, a support for said member slidable on said cross bar, an electric bulb mounted on said support, an electric connection from said cross bar to one terminal of said bulb, an electric connection from the other terminal of said bulb to said contact member, said member being insulated from said slidable support and said cross bar being connected to one side of an electric circuit while the fallen drop wire is connected through the stop motion to the other side of the circuit. 9. In a loom having a warp stop motion using a plurality of drop wires, an indicating device comprising a contact member movable crosswise of the loom below the stop motion. and means to give a signal when said member engages a fallen drop wire.
10. In a loom having a warp stop motion using a plurality of drop wires, an indicating device comprising a contact member separate and additional to the warp stop motion and manually movable along a predetermined path crosswise of the loom below the stop motion and relative thereto, said contact member causing rocking movement of the relative to said contact bar, said means being effective to engage and rock a fallen drop wire about its point of contact with said contact bar, thereby separating adjacent drop wires and warp threads and indicating the location of the broken warp thread.
