This invention relates to improvements'in drinking-cups of the class whicli are formed of paper or like material and adapted for individual'use, the present application being a "5, division of an application Serial No, 707,355

An object of the present invention is to provide an improved cup of the class referred to which will permit of the nesting of the cups together in a stack in a dispensing device and that can be readily gripped and withdrawn singly from the dis enser.

. Another object of the inventlon is to providean improved cup of the collapsible type possessing the characteristic referred to,

which will be strongly reinforced, and which willbe of a satisfactory eflicientn ature and inexpensive to manufacture.

The invention, with other objects and advantages thereof, and' the particular construction, combination and arrangement. of parts comprising the same, will be understood from the hereinafter contained detail description when considered in connection with the accompanying drawings forming part hereof and illustrating'one embodiment of the invention.

In Figures 6 and 7 of the drawings is illustrated one form a of dispensing device adapted to dispense cups of the improved donstruction of the present invention. B designates the dispensing device and a designates the cups having the handle portions 10. The dispensing device B is in the form of a carton of substantially flat form providedwith closure flaps bb at its ends, the carton being adapted to have the cups a introduced therein through the upper end thereof. The dispensing device B is provided near its lower end with yieldable cup supporting and separating means, shown in ,this instance, as comprising yieldable membersc constructed of rubber or other suitable materialfsecuredwithin the carton B at the sides thereof by suitable means, such as bolts and

It will be noted that by the particular con struction hereinbefore set forth, a colla sible cup is provided in w lnch the connectio s of the front and back walls are such as to prevent leakage, and eflicient reinforcing means is provided, the resulting structure being of a satisfactory,'eflicient nature that can be roduced at low cost. ' While a specific embodiment of the in- 'vention is illustrated in the drawings, it will of course be nderstood that changes and variations may be made in the particular con- .struction of cup shown as will a peal to those skilled in the art and falling within the scope of the appended claims without departing from the spirit of the invention, and of course any form of dispenser suitable for the purpose may be employed for dispensing and constituting a handle portion, and said handle portion lying flat against the adj oining side wall of the cup when the cup is nested within another cup.
