The present invention relates to carburetors formed by a group of small elementary carburetors each comprising an air passage or diuserin which terminates a con- U nection supplying the carburant.
According to this invention, the discharge openings of the elementary carburetors open into a chamber which communicates with the suction manifold of the motor through .l0 a passage having a constant cross section.
Then the engine of an automobile 1s supplied by a carburetor made accordingto this invention, it is found that it is rarely necessary to have recourse to the change-speed 5 mechanism, the intervention of the latter becoming necessary only at starting and on steep hills, even with an engine of which the cylinders are of moderate cubic capacity.
i In other cases, the adjustment of the carbu 2G retor is sufcient to cause the power ydeveloped by the engine, as well as-its speed, to vary very progressively in the degree desired.
The annexed drawings show, by way of examples, forms of constructing the carbu- 25 retor according to this invention.
Figure l is a diagram. Figure 2 relates to a form of particular construction which is represented diagrammatically in perspective. Figure 3 is a similar view of a modisection, the details of this modification.

The slow-running setting is obtained in one at whichposition a single one of the outlets is partly opened.
Below the lateral outlets, the block is formed with a screw thread to which can be screwed a union (not shown) connecting the carburetor with the induction pipe of the engine.
According to the modification shown in Figures 3 and 4, the outlets 12 from the pipes or passages 1 deliver at the periphery of the block between the two extremities thereof. These outlets form two series arranged at different levels. Their opening is effected by a sleeve 13 provided with a rlng 14 for its operation and having a stop pin 13a which limits the movement of the sleeve. This sleeve is provided with apertures such as 13b each corresponding with a series of outlets. The liquid fuel is supplied along the axis of the block by a central passage in the removable stem 15. This passage is branched out very near its commencement into narrow passages each leading to a nozzle 16 (Figure 4) arranged opposite the outlet from one of the pipes or passages 1.
These last mentioned are open to the atmosphere first at the lower end of the block and secondly at the periphery of the upper part of the block. The opening of all the upper outlets is simultaneously adjustable by the operation of a revoluble cap 17, having the necessary apertures. A retaining member 18 screwed to the top of the central removable stem 15 bears by means of a spring 19 and through the cap 17, upon the whole of the block in such a way as to maintain it in place in the casing 20 of the carburetor.
The stem 15 can be easily taken out from the barrel-block in such a Way that the clearing (when necessary) of the inlets for the feed of fuel can be effected without difficulty.
What I claim is:
1. In a carburetor of the type comprising means forming a plurality of air passages with a nozzle in each of them for introducing the liquid fuel, means forming air passages with inlet ports at each end, and an outlet port in the middle part and a fuel nozzle in the axis of said outlet port.
2. In a carburetor of the type comprising means forming several air passages with a nozzle in each of them for introducing the liquid fuel, a constant level chamber, a cylindrical body, air passages drilled in the said body around an axial perforation of the same, a plug in said axial perforation, longitudinal ducts into the said plug adapted for supplying the fuel to the nozzles and con-y nected together under the level of the fuel in the constant level chamber.
