the smaller bore being threaded to engage the in the proximate ends of two rolls, each of said rolls having a tapered bore, extending from the base of the first bore and also having a threaded bore extending from the base of the tapered bore, said journal having a tapered portion adapted to fit against said tapered bore, and also having a threaded portion adapted to be driven home in the threaded bore to cause the tapered portion on the journal to fit snugly in said tapered bore.
7. The combination of two textile rolls and a roller neck for joining the rolls together, the proximate ends of the rolls having elongated bores extending thereinto, with a tapered bore extending from the base of each bore further into the rolls and a threaded bore extending from the base of, the tapered bores further into the rolls, a journal member having a bearing portion with other portions adjacent thereto extending into the said bores, a tapered portion on said journal member adapted to fit against the sidewalls of said tapered bore when driven home, and a threaded said threaded bores, the tapered bore and tapered portion on the roller neck limiting relative movement between the roller neck and the roll and also preventing swelling of the roll by said roller neck.
