IMPROVEMENT INFTABLE S FOR SAWlNG-MACHINES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 180,412, dated August 1, 1876; application filed 7 January 22, 1876.
To all whom it may concern I Be it known'that I, FRANK J. BETTS, of Long Island City, county of Queens, State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Tables for Sawing-lllachines and supporting the saw-blade, which improvement is set forth in the annexed specification, reference being had to the aeoonipanying drawings. Y
The object of my invention isvto bevel the tables of scroll-sawing machines at the requisite angle for-inlaid work, and for bevel-sawing or other purposes, by means of a hinge attached to the tables thereof, as represented in Figures 1 and 2, and is particularly adapted to the Fleetwood machine, without making changes in its construction, as well as to other machines now in use.
Fig. 1 represents the hinge opened at a working angle, and attached to the table-top F by its upper half B, while the lower halfA machine, as at G. Upon this lower half A are 1 two lugs, between which a steel pinion, C, re-
volves, and supports the saw-blade H H in line, and prevents it from bowing when the work is being pressed against it. but it may be dispensed with in light work. D is a thumbscrew, passing through parts of the hinge A B, as at I and P, for seourin g the table-top at the required angle. E is the hinge-pin.
Fig.2 shows the hinge opened; and similar letters refer to similar parts in Fig. 1.
I claim as my invention The above-described attachment for beveling saw-tables, in combination with a revolving saw-support, substantially as and for the purposes set forth.
