An object of this invention is'to construct a refrigerator ot the mechanical refrigerated type provided with an ice-tormingcompartment into which the drip from the cooling unit is prevented from flowing into the ice- "forming compartment. e 7
Another object of this invention is to pro- -vide an ice tray adapted to fit into a cooling unit in such a manner that drip from the cooling unit does not flow into the ice tray.

A refrigerator embodying my invention, generally designated as 21, may have a cool ing in a compartment, which cooling nnit is generally designated as 22, may be snpported in the refrigerator by any snitable means generally designated as 23. -l["he tront oi? the cooling unit may be encased by a partition 2d having openings 3% through which ice trays generally designated as 2@ may be inserted. The bandle 33 of the ice tray may be integral with the bead 32 and has a horizontal portion 34 below the top surface ot the ice tray. The handle 33 may extend horizontally for a distance as shown at 84 and then extend vertically for a distance as shown at 35 and then again extend horizontally as at 36, which last named extension maybe secured to the body of the tray'at 37 by any suitable means, such as by soldering. The vertical portion 35 ot the handle may be provided with an ornamental sealing cover 38 having a recess 39 for the reception of the fingers of the hand and this ornamental cover 38 may be secured to the handle 33 by means of bolts 40. By reterence to Fig. l itis seen that handle 33 extends outside the sleeve 27 and that the handle 33 is left unprotected and that drip from the cooling unit may tall on this handle. As the horizontal portion 34 is below the level ot the top oi the ice tray the drip does not flow into the main body 30 ot the Ice tray. The tray with its handle may be pressed from a single piece of sheet metal, and the handle may be tormed as shown alter ressing.
