The presentv invention relates toimprove- IHBIItS-lHIPHIDP jacks and has reference-more particularly to a ackthat is used in pumping' oil Wells.
\ 1 Y, F One'of the importantobjectsof theapresent invention is to provide a; pump aclr that in-' eludes j a steelframe it' being an additional object to provide a j ackzthat isprovided-With' adjustable bearingsnfor the various parts 'IO thereof. V
= r A further object. is to: provide a pump 3 ack ofthe above mentioned character whereint'he adjustment for the rbearings may be readily and: easilyimade Whenevennecessary.
v Still a. further'object'is-toprovide a pump jack "of the abovenientionedcharacter Which iis siinplein constructiom.inexpensive strong" and durable; and further Well adapted-t0 the purpose-for which: it is designed. i g
Other objects and advantages of th i nvea tion will become apparent from the following; desc'ription'whe'n takenin connectionwith i theaccompanyin'g drawing.
In the accompanying drawings wherein like referencecharacters indlcate corresponding parts throughout the same Figure 1 IS a side elevation of jack embodying my invention.
Figure 2 is a top plan view thereof. Figure 3 is an end elevation.
Figure 4 is a sectional view taken approxithe pump inately on the line l4 of Figure 1 looking downwardly.
Figure 5 is a vertical section taken approximately on the line 55 of the same figure looking in the direction of the arrow.
Figure 6 is a similar section taken approxi-' mately on the line 66 of Figure 1, and
Figure 7 is a detail perspective view of the A substantially inverted U-shaped steel bearing block provided for the bell crank A polishrod; grip bearing 18 is arranged: on the upper rear end oithis-jack beam,

An ad- As the operation of the pump jack is wellknown in the art, it is thought a detailed description of the same is believed unnecessary.
I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is A pump= jack comprising a supporting;
structure including a base and a pair of inverted U-shaped frames risin'g 'vertically from oneend of the base andin alinement with each other, bearing blocks 'slidably mounted in the upper portion of the re-- 'spective frames, means adjustably: securing thebearing blocks'in the frames, a rocker unit; rockably supported by the said bearing blocks and having a block like extension de'pendingbetween the bearing block, a jack "beam including spaced side plates fixedly attached. to opposite sides of the said block 7 like extension of the rocker unit, a bell crank lever mounted in said supporting structure, and a pitman connection between the said lever and thejack beam.
*In testimony whereofIaifix my signature. THOMAS M. TUTILE.
ditionalblock32 provides spacing means for 1 the rear end of the side plates ofthe horizontal arm of thebell crankl'ever.
The vertical arm of the bell crank lever also includes a pair of spaced side plates denoted by the reference character 33, and suitable spacing blocks 34 are interposed between the side plates 33. The lower extremities of the side plates of the vertical arm arefixedly secured to the forward extremities'of the side plates of the horizontal arm ofthe bell crank lever, while diagonally disposed braces 35 extend between the upper end of the vertical arm and the rearend of the horizontal arm of this bell crank lever.
A shackle rodbearing 36i s associated with the upper end of the vertical arm of the bell crank lever 30 as indicated in Figure 1.
'A pitman 37 extends between the rear end a of the jack beam 15 and the rear end of the horizontal arm ofjthe' bell crank 30, and the top bearing for the pitman is shown generally i at 38 while the lower bearing for the pitman is indicated at 39 in Figure 1.
