For a roller blind, the combination of a roller, roller turning means at each end of said roller adapted to turn said roller in the blind raising sense, unidirectional clutching means between each, end of the roller and the corresponding roller turning means, friction clutching means between each" end of the roller and the corresponding unidirectional clutching means and resilient means at each end ofsaid roller and adapted to be stressed by blind'raising movement of the corresponding roller turning means, either of the're-' silient means acting to return the corresponding roller turning means to its normal position aftertheblind has been raised thereby and the unidirectional clutching means at the other end of the roller simultaneously coacting to prevent turning of the roller in the blind lowering sense. 7 w

A roller blind having in combination, a roller, a blind thereon, two devices one at each end of the roller, each device comprising unidirectional clutching means, both clutching meansbeing adapted to, act on the roller in the same rotative sense, and means in connection with each said device for raising the blind, the two said devices co-operating, one to retract the blind raising means after the blind has been raised and the other simultaneously to prevent such retraction causing movement of the roller in the blind lowering sense. y
