I BnAoKET" FOR ELEcrR-Io 01.123335 Application filed December 2, -1 928 .Seri a1No 328,452. I
' This invention which relates to'brackets generally is designed particularly to support an electric clipper. For this purpose'itis formed to fit into the slot or guideusually 5 provided at the top of the back of a barberis chair or the like for the reception of the head rest; and 1t combines-1n its .structureja means for supporting an electric motor, and also for suspending the cutter head which is connected flexibly to the motor in a well known manner. In order to serve most satisfactor--= ilyin the capacit es noted, -the bracket 1s specially formed in the peculiar manner which will hereinafter be explained." e
is set forth. in the accompanying drawing in the manner following: w 7 e Figure 1 is a side elevation of the bracket as it appears when mounted operatively on 0 the back of a chair or seat, a clipper: motor and cutter head being supported by the bracket in the intended manner; i
Fig. 2 is a View in perspective of the bracket per se; and
Fig. 3 is a fragmentary detail showing the bracket endwhich provides supportfor niotor and cutter head; y i 1 In the drawingI have" represented the back A of aseat or chair having in its upper edge a slot or guideway for the reception of the usual head rest bar.- The present bracket B which is in the 'form of a bar 4 is adapted to be fitted within the slot or guidewayin the upper edge of the chair or seat back in i socket 10 adapted to receive one end 11 of a hook bolt C which may bemade of round wire bent'into the general form of a rectan- A suggestive embodiment of my invention.

againstinovement of every kind.
"A bracket answering to the preceding description is, particularly 'ada pted to support a clipper motor D having a bail 16' which may be secured within the hook C, asshown in Fig. 1. The motor shaft is indri'ving ening to acutter head E having aneye or opening 18 for receiving; the hook 9. The motor support, which is the hook C, becomes secure with tightening of the nut 14, but the cutter head maybe removedfrom connection zlwiththe hook 8 whenever it is tobe placed in service. I In such circumstances the motor isfr'ee to swing upon its mounting, according to the pullon the connection 17, and this is of advantage in the use of the instrument.
The present clipper bracket is advantathis positioii.the hookiendll is-also held 'within the socket 10.s0 as to secureth el hook so gcous in thatit issiinple, compact, and easily apphedto or removed from the back of a chair or seat; When so positioned it sustains the'clipper motor in a central position for convenient use of the cutter head, and'no flexible shaft, comprising a bar having one end adapted for reception within the head rest guideway of a chair back, said bar being bent upon itself to provide a portion adapted to depend along the rear side of the chair I back and havingahorizontal portion which extends rearwardly therefrom, said horizontalportion being formed with a socket, and
" o In a bracket of the kindidescribed an adjustable hooked bolt depending from said horizontal portion and presenting one end within the socket, and means for securing I the other end of said bolt to saidhorizontah ,portion. 7
2. A portable motor and flexible shaft supporting and attaching means for leather chairs, comprising a bar-like bracket adapted- 1 for reception Within the head restfguideway of a'chair back, said bar being bentat one end toengage the rear side of the chair and Y 7 provide a bracket arm, said arm having:
clamping means for detachably securing a motor adjacent the back of a chair-,axid means projecting beyond said motor; clamping s means and adapted to engage and support a flexible shaft.
having a laterally extending arm terminating in an upwardly directedv hook, andfia i socket adjacent the hook end,"a second hook iadjustably mounted in said brac-ket'and hav-v ing its free end normallyengaging' Within said socket, and means foradjustingfsaid secl; 011d hookrelative to said bracket and socket. 1 I p e i InltestimonywhereofI-haveliereunto set" my 'han'd-thisZQ day ofDecember, 1928.] Q r JOHN W; BEs'rnEn p on
