.The eneral object of my present invention is to provide an improved construction of shower head for use in lavatories, washrooms and other places. More -s pecifically,,-it ismy object .to provide a shower head with simple, e'fiectiveand readilyclean able strainer means.

The :various features of novelty which characterize my invention are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed 'toaan'd'torming .a part of this specification. For .a better understanding of the invention, however, its advantagesjand specific objects attained withiits use, referenceshou'ld behad to the accompanyingdrawings and descriptive matterrin which :1 have illustrated and described preferred embodiments of my invention.

In the normal use of the disclosed structure, the water passes from the supply pipe con nection down through the supply pipe member B, passingout through the lateral open- 'ings B into the shower head casing chamher. The strainer C covering the openings -B )revents an forei n matter from assin C out: to clog up the perforations in the face plate D.- The liquid is forced out of the shower head chamber through the multi- "plicity of vertical passages D and descends in the form of a spray.

The shower head'shownand described is of simple and compact construction, especially easy to assemble and. clean. The parts are so arranged that when the perforated face plate member D is removed as for cleaning, the tubular strainer will drop off by gravity, prac tically insuring that the strainer part Cwill be cleaned wheneverthe face plate D is removed. This is a desirable characteristicof the invention since a periodic'cleaning of the strainer'and face plate is essential for the -maintenance of the best operating conditions,

While in accordance with the provisions of the statutes, I have illustrated and described the best form of embodiment of my invention now known to me, itwill be apparent to those skilled in the art that changes may be made in the form of the apparatus disclosed without departing from the spirit of my invention as a set forth in the appended claims and that in some cases certain features of my invention may be used to'advantage without a corresponding use of other features.

rigid cylindrical strainer'surrounding said pipe portion and of larger internal diameter than the body of said ported pipe, and spaced centering flanges formed onsaid pipe, and said strainer contacting with the peripheral surfaces of said flanges, whereby an annular space is formedbetween said strainer and said body portion.

A shower head comprising a bell-shaped 'shell portion surrounding a chamber open at its under side, a liquid supply pipe having an elongated laterally ported portion closed at its lower end, said pipe extending from said shell into said chamber toward its open side, a tubular strainer surrounding and
