An awning fixture, as definedby claim having, as its rod-clamping fastening ele I ment, a set screw of which theaxis is perpendicular to a plane determined by the axes 7 i v of the two saddle-like legs-of the fixture, said set screw being located in one of said saddle like legs with its center, spaced from the inner surface of the leg a distance slightly greater than the diameter of the rod on which the fixture is to be used, whereby'the rod may be firmly clamped in said leg by the set screw. 4:.
