An additional means for supporting the inverted bottles in position over the discharge tubes lO'is also provided, and the construction thereof will be presently described.

As shown very, clearly in the drawings, a brush unit is associated with each of the water discharge tubes 11 and 12, and each of these brush units includes a vertically disposed stem 23, that extends along the side of each of the water discharge tubes 11 and 12, thelower end of each stem being secured to the water pipe, while the intermediate portion of each stem is secured to the respective water discharge tube, and the upper end of the stem extends beyond the upper end of each of the aforementioned water discharge tubes. lhe bristles 24 may be secured to the upper, portion of each stem in any appropriate manner.

A pair of uprights 25 and 26 respectively have their lower ends secured to the top portion of the water pipe 3, adjacent the respective standards 14 and 15 and the upper ends of these uprights 25 arefurthermore made rigid by connection to the adjacent standards through the medium ofthe offset cross pieces 27. a

A pair of longitudinally extending strips 28 and 29 are disposed on opposite sides of the uprights 25 and 26 and also on opposite sides of the vertically extending water discharge tubes, the ends of these strips projecting beyond the outer side. edges of the up rights and bolts .and thumb nuts denoted generally by the reference character 30 are associated with the ends of these longitudinally extending spaced strips, whereby said strips may be secured in any vertically adjusted position upon the uprights so that-the necks of the. inverted bottles may rest on the upper edges of the strips. The provision of the vertically adjustable strips 28 that constitute bottle supporting means will permit the bottoms of the inverted bottles to be properly adjusted with respect to the brushes, so that the bristles can engage the bottoms of the bottles, as well as the inneror side walls thereof.

In use, the bottles to be cleanedare initially placed over water discharge tubes 11 and 12, and the petcocks 13 associated with these particular tubes are opened, while the pet cock associated with the pipe or tube 10 is closed.

When the water is turned on the same will pass upwardly through the tubes 11 and 12, into the inverted bottles, and by manually turning the bottles, the brushes will thoroughly clean the interior thereof, after which the bottles are removed from the particular water discharge tubes and are then each placed over the water discharge tube 10, and when the pet cock for this particular tube is opened, fresh water will be forced upwardly into the bottle, for thoroughly rinsing he same, and when this operation has been completed, the bottles may be removed to be dried.

Also the outside of the bottles may be washed by holding the'same directly over the upper ends of the water discharge tubes and the water ejected from said tubes will be forced against the outer surface of the bottles for cleaning the exterior thereof.

It will thus be seen from the foregoing description that we have provided a bottle cleaning apparatus that will save considerable time and labor and furthermore will at all times be positive and efficient in carrying out the purpose for which it is designed.

A bottle cleaning apparatus of the above i mentioned character is particularly adapted for home use in cleaning milk bottles and fruit jars, although the apparatus can be used for other purposes.

The parts of our improved apparatus are so arranged as to permit the same to be properly adjusted and furthermore can be readily and easily cleaned whenever necessary.

While we have shown the preferred embodiment of our invention, it is to be un derstood that various changes in the size, shape and arrangement of parts may be resorted to, without departing from the spirit of the invention or the scope of the appended claims.

lVhat we claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is: I s

1. In a bottle cleaning apparatus of the character described, a pair of spaced supports, ahorizontal water pipe extending across the spaced supports, a series of water discharge tubes extending upwardly from the pipe andhaving communication there with, a valve associated'with each of'the tubes at the lower end thereof, a plurality of brush units, each arranged in close proximity to a water discharge tube for position Within the interior of a bottle when the bottle is dissaid horizontal bar,there being one split ring I for each of said discharge tubes, said rings being arranged circumjacent their respective discharge tubes, means for securing the split rings in clamped relation about the bottles, a

pair of elongated horizontally disposed strips arranged on opposite sides of said tubes, means for supporting saidstrips in a versaid pipe, said pipe being provided with a plurality of valve controlled discharge tubes projecting upwardly therefrom, a frame structure, means for mounting said frame structure to one side of said pipe, said frame structure being providedwith a plurality of i ranged circum acent said dlscharge tubes, for engagement wlth the bottles disposed in split rings, means for mountingsaid rings on the frame structure, said rings being aran inverted position oversaid tubes, means for securing the ends of said split rings whereby said rings may be clamped about the bottles for holding the bottles in a pre' f determined inverted position over said tubes,
