IMPROVEMENT IN SLATE-FRAME4 ATTACHMENTS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 178,043, dated May 30,1876; application filed 4 April 27, 1876.
. To all whom t may concern Fig. III is a section showing the frame open.
A represents the slate, and' B the frame,
u' constructed in the usual manner. To one side of the frame B a Wire frame, D, is hinged,by passing the ends through staples a. At the sides or ends small hooks n are arranged, which, when the frame D is laid against the slate, hold the same tight in that position.
The copy-slats C, which` are preferably of thiclrpaper, or card-board covered with paper, containing the letters,tigures, or designs to be copied, are placed upon the slate, and the Wire frame D over the same, which latter is held fast and secured by means of the hooks u, holding thereby the copy-slats rmly in their place.
When the slate is to be used the frame D is turned upward, as shown in Fig. III, in which position it will act as a back-support for the copy-slats to be used. Inside of the staples a projecting hooks m are arranged on the slateframe, to support the bottom ot' the copy-slats, and thus prevent them from sliding off.

What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
lfln combination with a school-slate, the Wire frame-D and hooks n, to secure the copyslats, substantially in the manner and forthe purpose described.
2. In combination with a school-slate, provided With a Wire frame, D, as described, the projections v o and projecting hooks m m, arranged substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
