Description

Sept. 2 1930. A. LENTZ 1,774,798
couamnn SORTING AND FEEDING MACHINE Filed May 25. 1927 t machine which serves simultaneously for the i ed with a main b0 Patented Sept. 2, 1930 ARTHUR LENTZ, on nussntnonr, GERMANY ooMBINEn SORTING AND FEEDING MACHINE" Application filed na zs', 1927, Serial No. The object of the present invention is a sorting and transporting, loading etc., of
ashes, rubbish, stones, sand and similar materials. It combines therefore twoworking processes which have formerly been. separate} ly effected into a single process, whereby. considerable saving in labour-cost, time and power are efiected.
The essence of the invention consists in an electric motor being centrally rigidly connect dy inclined to the horizontal, the shaft of which motor is coupled, either permanently or easily disconnectably, with a disc fly wheelprovidedwith heaters,
which sorts according to size and feeds fur ther the material'falling' through an inclined or= horizontal easily changeable sieve.
Figures 1 and '2 of the accompanying drawing show the machine in vertical sec- 'tion and in front view respectively, I
Figure 3 shows in plan the thrower casing with the flywheel and heaters.
Figure 4: shows an -alternativefconstruction of coupling of the fly wheel with the flange of the'motor shaft. In the drawings a is the casing of the machine, the flange on the casing to which the. electric motor is secured, a is the motor flange, cl is the flange fast on the motor shaft, 6 the thrower disc with the heaters 7 thereon,'g isthe shear pin coupling the throwerdisc with the motor shaft flange, histhe changeable sieve and 2' the thrower casing. v "f The operation is as follows'iThe material to be sorted and fed is thrown as indicated by the arrows, through mesh chosen according to need; it enters the thrower casing and is thrown by the thrower disc with great speedoutfof the casing opening intothe air or into a conductingpipe into a wagon'or container.
What I claim is 1. A combined sorting an comprising a casing, a motor mounted within said casing, a shaft in said motor, said motor and shaft being inclined to the vertical, a ma--. terial receiving chamber located on said casing and into which said shaft extends, a
material throwing member mounted on said I 'clinedto the vertical, said adjacent to the lower side cthe'sieve which has its. I
193, 52, and. in Germany May as, 1926;
shaft within said material receivingcasing, the axis of said materlalreceiving chamber "and said material throwing member being concentric with said shaft and likewise incasing being provided with an inlet located thereofand with an outlet located adjacent the upper side of said casing.
2. A; combined materialsorting and feeding device comprising a hollow casing, an
inwardly extending annuluar flange-within said casing, the plane ofsaidflange being at an angle to the vertical, a motor,'means for I securing said motor to said annular flange, a shaft in said motorja material receiving chamber located on said casing into which said motor shaft extends, a material throwing member mounted on said shaft within the material receiving chamber and outlet and inlet ports provided on said material receiving chamber.
3. A combined material sorting and feed ing device comprising a hollow casing, 'an
inwardly extending annuluar flange within said casing, a motor, means for securing said motor to said annular flange, a shaft on said motor, a material receiving chamber located von said easing into which said motor. shaft' I extends,- a material throwing member mounted on said shaft with said material receiving chamber and outlet and inletports provided I on said material receiving chamber.
I In testimony whereof Ihave signedom'y d feeding device name to this specification.
7 ARTHUR 'LENTZ.
