1 marks the sky light box, 2 side plates resting on the ends of the side walls, a plate 3 along the upper side anda plate 4 along the lowerside. The plate 3 is secured to the box preferably ofwood and its upper edge has a fold 5 terminating in a gutter 6, the inner edge of the gutter being folded at 7 to form a glass support. A cap piece 7 is arranged over the'top edge of the glass. A re-enforcing and supporting plate 8 issecured on the inner face ofthe wall 3, the upper edge ex tending into the fold 5. This has an inwardly extending flange 9 terminating in a gutter 10. The flange 9 rests on the top of the box 1.
The side plate 4 has an inward fold 11 forming a flange resting on the top of the side box. Truss bars, 12 are formed of sheet metal of prismatic shape of triangular sec- .tion, the top having supporting surfaces 13 between which is formed a trough 14. The sides of the bar 15 are brought together at 16-and have outwardly extending flanges 17 terminating in an upturned bend 18. The bottom edge's'are locked together by a tie plate 19 which has folds 20 extending over the edges 18, the upturned edges forming a gutter which will receive and carry out any condensation that may reach the truss bar. Glass'21 rests on packing strips 22, prefer ably of asbestos which form cushions for the edges of the glass and'also tend to close the joint between the glass and the bar.
A cap 23 extends lengthwise of'the joint formed between the edges of the glass. What 'I claim as new is w 1. Ina sky light, the combination of a truss barcomprisinga sheet: metal structure of prismatic shapeand triangular cross section with a horizontal side at the top; a" truss rod within the bar; and side walls abutting the ends of the bar. r

5. In a sky light, the combination of a truss bar comprising a sheet metal structure of prismatic shape and triangular cross section with a horizontal side at the-top, said top having glass supporting faces at each'sid'e and an intervening gutter; and a truss rod arranged Within the bar.

In a sky light, the combination of a truss bar comprising a sheet metal structure of prismatic shape formedwith a horizontal side at the top side wallsijoinedat the bottom; flanges extending from the bottom. of the side wallsforminggutters; means for securing the bottoms of the'side walls together; a truss rod arranged Within the bar, said truss rod having its ends secured to the top of the bar and its'i-ntermed-iate, portion adj acentto the bottom of the bar and a strut lower edges and arranged beneath the glass, said side plate having an outwardly extending flange with a hooked edge; and an edge plate extending along the bottom edges of the glass having an inturned portion below the glass with a hooked edge engaging the hooked edge of the side plate.
11. In a sky light, the combination of truss bars; and a side plate having an inwardly turned loop forming a box support abutting the ends of the truss bars.

In a sky light, the combination of a truss bar comprising a sheet metal structure of prismatic shape and triangular cross section with a horizontal side'at the top, said top having glass supporting faces-at each side and an intervening gutter; a truss rod ai ranged within the. bar; glass: arranged on the glass supports a. cap over the gutter and resting on the glass; and means extendingfroin the truss bar securing the capcomprising bolts extending between the edges of" the glass and bridge pieces secured in the gutter wal ls to which said bolts are secured.
