IMPROVEMENT'IN HEATERS FOR MELTING WAX FROM ELECTROTYAPE CASES.

Specication forming part of Letters Patent No. 176,886, dated May 2, 1876 application filed To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, JOHN E.l PARKER, of Bunker Hill District, Boston, in the county of Suolk and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Apparatus for Removing Wax from Electro-I type Gases, of which the following is a speciication 4 Figure 1 is a horizontal section of my improved apparatus taken through the line'x fr,

A is the case or box, which is made with steam-tight double wells upon its bottom, top, A

sides, and back, to form a steam-space. The steam-spaces at the top and bottomv of the case A are connected by four, less or more, pipes, B, to increase the heat in the interior of the case. Y v.

The-steam is introduced into the space between the walls a a of the case A through the pipe C,-and its entrance is controlled by avalve, D, inserted in said pipe. The forward side of the oase A is open, and is closed with a tightly-iitting door.

In the center of the outer bottom of the case A is formed a hole, in which is Asecured `a pan, Efto receive the water of condensation, which water is drawn oft' through the pipe F, provided with a valve, G.

The upper surface of the inner bottom of the case A is concaved, and in its center is formed a hole, in which is secured a pan, H, made concentric with the pan E, and projecting into said pan.

To bars I, attached to the top and bottom ofthe inner case, are attached rows of vertical guide-bars J, between which the cases K are inserted edgewise, as shown in Figs. l and 2. The bars J, in front of and above the pans E H, are cut oft', as shown' in Figs. I and 2, to enable the wax to be conveniently removed with a dipperfrom the pan H, to be again used.

To the top of the case A are attached four pins, L, for the cases to be placed upon, to warm the wax to enable it to receive the impression.

Vith this apparatus, when the shells have been removed from the cases, the cases are inserted between the guide-bars J, andthe wax, as it melts off, runs down into' the pan H, where it is kept melted ready to be again used, and the cases are kept warm and ready for use when required.

Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- '1. The combination of a double-walled box, A, having upper and lower steam-spaces con. nected by pipes B, the corresponding pans E H, the bars J, and the cases K, all constructed and arranged substantially as shown and described, to form an apparatus for removing wax from elect-rotype cases. v

2. The combination, with box or chambers- A A inclosing an intermediate steam-space, of the pins L attached to the top or cover'ot' the same, substantially as and for the purpose specified.
