sleeve above described and as illustrated in `Figs. 1, 2 and 3, is adapted to be embedded in the concrete floor 23 duringthe pouring of such floor and in which event naturally the sections of pipes 18 and 22, as well as the coupling 13, are not present. In such event also it will be obvious that the section-of pipe 15 of suitable length, depending on the thicli- Y ness of the flooring 23, will be screwed into the threads 14; and l viind it preferable to have such section'of pipe 15 extend for 'a slight distance above the finished surac'eoi' the floor, as clearly shown in AFigs. 1 and 2. It is desirable to have, from a inished standpoint, the lower face of the collar 2O substantially flush with the lower facero't the floor V23 andin order that this may be done, I 'iind it preferable to, during the process of construction, substitute for the cap screws 19, other screws somewhat similar but of a lengthtopass through the usual mould board employed in casting the ioor 23. That is,
the mould board is put in position with'the holes registering with the holes in the collar 20 and the long cap screws pass through the holes in the mould board and through the holes in the collar 20 and then intothe tapped holes in the Vbody of the cylindrical member f i combinationof a cylindrical member, anchorf 10. It will obvious therefore that the mould board employed has secured thereto not only a collar 2O but also the cylindrical 'member 10 that carries the section of pipe 15 and that the mould board, being fixed in position as regards the floor, that the cylindrical member 10, togetherV with the attachments thereon, is also similarly iixed in position. After the floor 23 has been cast and has had time to set, the mould boards employed are naturally removed and tliereiore'the long cap screws employed are removedV and the cap screws 19 shown in Figs. 1, 2 and 3, are substituted therefor and the device is vnow in fixed position within the floor 23.
When used as a sleeve and not as an anchor, the .pipe 18 or 22, or a similar pipe'is passed through the openings'21 andf17 and the construction, therefore, is merelyV la sleeve.,
Should itbe desired, however, to utilize the construction as an anchor, the cap screws 19 are removed, the collar 20 also` removed and a coupling 13placed inthe counterbored portion 12, afterwhich'the collar 2() is replaced,
as are alsothe cap screws 19, and the device 18 and 22 are screwed into theupper and low- Vname to this specification.
