The present invention appertains to irnprovements in holders and more specifically to a novel spring holder for train order hoops. The principal object of this holder is the 6 provision of a holder for use on train order hoops of such construction as to prevent the slippage thereof on the hook, with the consequential liability of loosing the order.
Another important object is to provide a 1 holder of this character which because of its brief construction can be manufactured at a very reasonable cost.
These and other objects of the invention will become more apparent to the reader after considering the invention as described and claimed hereinafter.

Figure 1 represents a perspective view of a train order hoop equipped with the novel holder.
Figure 2 is an enlarged fragmentary longitudinal sectional view through the holder.
Figure 3 is a sectional view, taken substantially on the line 33 of Figure 2.
Figure 4 is a plan view of the pattern for forming the holder.
Referring to the drawings, wherein like numerals designate like parts, the drawings show the conventional train order hoop, generally referred to by numeral 3. The hoop portion 4 of this implement is substantially square and provided with an elongated handle 5. In carrying out the present invention, a plate 6 is provided at an intermediate point with opposed notches 7 at its longitudinal edge portions, while cross pieces 8 are provided at the ends of the plate 6.
The plate 6 is notched at 7, to permit the same to be bent to assume the formation shown in Figures 1 and 2. The cross pieces 8 are bent circularly with their ends disposed in overlapping position, in substantially the manner shown in Figure 3. The ends of the cross pieces 8 are provided with openings 9 to receive a suitable rivet or the like. An elongated spring arm 10 extends from one end of the plate 6 and is provided with a laterally disposed head 11 at the free end thereof. 7
By attaching the device to the hoop 4, in
the manner shown in Figure 1, there can be practically no slippage of the holder on the hoop, thus'materially lessening the liability of the train order becoming displaced.
Obviously certain changes may be made in 5 the specific shape, size and materials, without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed hereinafter.
Having described the invention, what is claimed as new is: 0 A clamp for train order hoops comprising an angularly bent plate, a collar at each end of the plate for engaging right angular portions of the hoops, and a spring finger extending from one end of the plate for tensional 5 engagement against said hoop for holding a train order, said collars being split with their ends disposed in overlapped relation and thus secured together.
