Description

P. AUR'ICH SHARING CONVEYER Jan. 7, 1930.
Filed July 7, 1927.
' Patented Jan. 7, 1930 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE IEIETAIEIR. A'IJRIGH,4 F BOCHUM., ASSIGNOB TAO THE FIRE GEBR. EIGKHOFF,
HASCHINENFABBIK, I!I4 BOCHUM, GERMANY" SHA'KING (JONVEYEB,
Appliemonmea my 7, 1927, serial No. 204,064, and in eer-'many Janaary 2s, 19a?.
The invention has for its objectto improve conveyers of the shaking type, as used for instance, in mining service.
In operatin conveyers mounted on very uneven groun not only forces arise, acting in upward direction and tending to buckle the conveyer, bu't i also forces which act in an oblique lateral direction and tend to bend the conveyer laterally. These forces serious` ly impair the accurate running of the conve er.
ow my invention has for its object to obviate this drawback. This object is attained by the fact that, besides means which guide the conveyerfin vertical direction and prevent it from being lifted, further means are provided that takeup the forces acting in lateral direction and secure an accurate rectilinear inotionof the conveyer.
In order to allow my invention to be more easily understood, a referred embodiment of same isillustrated y way of example in the drawing which accompanies and forms part of this specification. In this drawing:
Fig. 1 is an elevational view of the improved conveyer,
Fig. 2 is the corresponding top plan view, whilst x l Fig. 3 is a fragmentary side elevation thereof; i'
Referring now to these figures, a denotes one of thesupporting brackets of the conveyer which bracket may be fixed, according to the conditions prevailing, by means of props s or by bolts screwed into a suitable foundation. Antifriction `rollers b are mounted so as to rotate in verticalplanes on the-bracket a, and engage horizontal grooveshaped longitudinal guides d provided on' 4.0 the supponts r ofthe conveyer trough.: Furthermore, the brackets a carry one or more lower antifriction rollers c which rotate in a horizontal plane and engage a groove-A shaped guide e likewise extending in the longitudinal direction of the conveyer and fixed on the underside of the latter.
The rollers b thus guide thel conveyer in vertical direction and prevent. it from being 5o lifted, whilst the rollers c guide it laterally and take up the forces acting in a lateral or,
oblique direction.
Of course, instead of being) the bracket, the'rollers c may e mounted on the conveyer whilst the guides e, e are fixed on the bracket. In case the vertical guide members b,'d extend in a curved line, the
arranged on lateral guide members c, e are of a design so i bracket behind the point where the motor is attached to the conveyer,
What I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is 1. In a shaking conveyer, in combination, a longitudinally reciprocable trough member,- a trough supporting bracket member, means between the bracket member and the trough member for guiding the latter in the direction of reciprocation, a horizontally disosed roller journalled on one of the memers, and a longitudinally disposed ide on the other member coacting with the orizontally disposed roller for guiding the trough memberagainst lateral displacement. l
2. In a shaking conveyer, in combination,
a longitudinally reciprocable trough member, a trou h`supporting .bracket member, vertically disposedrollers journalled on one of the members, longitudinally disposed guides on the 'other member coacting with the -vertically disposed rollers for guiding the trough member in the direction .of reciprocation, a horizontallyfdisposed.'roller journalled on one of the members, and a longi.
'de on the othermemtudinally disposed A 4 ber coacting with t e h'orizontall fdisposed roller for guiding the trough mem r against lateral displacement.
3. In a. shaking conveyer, in combination, a longitudinally reciprocable trough member, a. transversely disposed member extending underneath the trough member and having vertically positioned bracket portions extending upwardly on each side of the trough member, anti-friction means disposed between the bracket portions and the sides of the trough for guiding the trough in the direction of reciprocatlon, and independent anti-friction means between the bottom of the trou h and the main portion f the bracket menager for guiding the trough against lateral displacement.y
4. In a shaking conveyer, in combination, a longitudinally reciprocable trough member, longitudinally extending guides of U-shape cross section secured to the trough member in the vicinit of the sides thereof, horizontally journalle vertical rollers on the bracket members inserted into the U-sha e guides, a longitudinal double guide on t e bottom of the trough member, and a vertii cally journalled horizontal roller on the bracket member inserted between the portions of the double guide.
In testimony whereof, I have signed my name to this speciication.
PETER AURICH.
