BURNER Fild Aug'. 14, 192e INVENTOR Patented Nov. 12, 1929 :BURNER Application led August 14,
This invention relates to improvements in a burner for use with various commercial,
gasoline lamps at present on the market. Its
primary object is to provide a burner that 5 will not readily become inoperative bythe collection of carbon on the said burner. Provision being made on the lower side of the burner for the carbon to settleq where it will not affect the operation of the lamp.
A further object is to provide a screen within the said burner that will atomize and assist in vaporizing the gasoline as it is forced from the gasoline chamber to the burner.
A still further object is to provide a burner of the type set forth that is easily disassembled for cleaning or any other purpose.
With these and other objects in view as will appear as the description proceeds the inventlon consists 1n the novel construction and arrangementL of parts as hereinafter more specifically set forth, claimed and shown in. the accompanying drawings forming a part of this present application and in which:
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of my invention. Fig. 2 is an enlarged partial cross section view through the same. v *Figaisn an enlarged perspective viewof the burner tip.. 1 f l Fig. 4L is an underneathfplan View of the burner tip showing the rounded part.
Referring more in detail to the `drawings in which similar reference characters'desigf nate corresponding parts throughout the several views, it will be seen that the invention Y l lconsists of a tube l10 with' a nut 11, Vand thread 12 whereby the burner is connected to the gasoline lamp. A screen 13 is placed inside the tube 10 and is held in place by a projectionllll inthe tube 10. The said screen is made up of a number of layers ofvery fine Y mesh screen wiresecuredtogether andprovided with a small loop 15 by which the screen may be withdrawn from the tube for cleansing. y n y L The upper end of the tube 10 is provided with an internal threadl, into which the 19.28; Serial No. 299,609.V
as shown at 19, the smalll end ofthey hole 18 being located at the lowest point `of `this part 19, around which thecarbon will settle when the lamp is in operation.
It is believed that the construction and advantagesl of the structure shown may be apparent from the foregoing paragraphs, taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings without further detailed descri tion.
While the preferred embodiment o the in-` vention has been disclosed it is understood that minor changes in the details of construction, combination and arrangement of' co-operat-ing elements may be resorted to i within the scopeY of what is claimed without departing from the spirit of the invention. l
What I claim is In a gasoline lamp burner of the type deand external thread at one end, an internal scribed having a tubular member with a nut;
thread at'the upper end, a burner tip lthreadably connected to said tubular member atl its upper end, said burner tip having a convveX lower side, and'having a conical shaped orifice through its center, an atomizingscreen located within the said burner, means of?V holding said screen in position and means of removing the same, substantially as set forth. Y f e In testimonyV whereof I affix my signature.`
FRANK 'BINSFELD. f
