This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combinap arts in tion and arrangement of the several parts, to
be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings. and specifically pointed out in the appended claims.
In describing my invention in detail, refer ence will be had to the accompanying drawings whereinlike characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which:

The sleeve 6 may be detachably secured in the base plate but in any event is adapted to receive a tubular jack member or post 7 that'is detachably fixed therein through the medium of a set screw 8 that is received by the sleeve 6 as best'shown I in Figure 1.
The tubular jack member is threaded for the major portion of its length and threadedly received in its upper end is a cap 9 for a purpose which will be presently apparent. The tubular jack member is provided with a jack frame which includes a rounded intermediate portion 10 having a threaded bore to accommodate the threaded portion of the tubular jack member whereby the jack frame may be vertically moved thereon. .Formed with the rounded intermediate portion 10 and disposed at an upward inclination therefrom and thenceextending in a horizontal plane is an arm 11 that is substantially oval shape in cross section as best shown in Figure 3, and extending from the rounded intermediate portion diametrically opposite the arm 11 is the rear portion 12 of the ack frame that has formed therewith and rising therefrom a cylindrical upright 13 having a bore centrally arranged therein, with a set screw 14 threaded to extend into the bore as best shown in Figure 2. The bore is adapted to receive a pin15 ofa length whereby a considerable portion thereof will project above the upright 13, and this pin is held in the bore by the set screw as shown in Figure 1.
end and this broadened portion is provided with an inclined top formed with a channel 18 arranged in a manner whereby the channel will substantially fit the toe of a shoe as suggested in Figure 1.
WVhile I have illustrated a last for a womans shoe with the shoe carried thereby, it will of course be understood that the jack frame and the toe supporting member can supportlasts of all sizes with shoes thereon regardless of whether the last is for women,
men or childrens shoes. In any event, the ankle portion of each of the lasts is provided with a bore that is reinforced by a flanged sleeve 19 which receives the pin 15 as shown in Figure 1, when the last is associated with the jack frame. The lasts receive the shoes in the usual manner when the sole, top lifts or heels are being secured thereto, and the toe portions of the shoes rest upon the channeled portion of the toe supporting means as shown. The parts to be applied to the shoes as well as the shoe receiving parts receive cement in the usual manner and are placed in position. The last, with its shoe thereon is then applied to the jack frame and is held associated therewith through the instru'mentality of pressure bands which are of various shapes and sizes it depending upon the place in which the band is to be secured. Each of the bands include a body portion 20 whichis formed from leather and is looped upon itself. The ends of the body portions are split and received between the split portions are the end portions of elastic members 21.
, The elastic members and body portions are held together by rivets or other like securing means WVhile the body portions may be of substantially the same size and shape, the elastic members thereof are of different shapes and sizes, as it will be apparent that a pressure member for a heel will have a relatively narrow elastic member as shown, while the pressure members for the ball and toe por- ,tions of the sole will be relatively wide.
I also provide extensions for the lasts so that the-sizes thereof can be changed, and for this purpose, the lasts are formed with bores in their heel portions to accommodate pins 23 of heel extensions 24 as shown in Figure 8, and these heel extensions of course make the last longer. hen it is desired to make a broad toe last from'a narrow toe last an extension such as indicated by the reference numeral 25 is provided, and these extensions are formed with pins 26adapted to be re" ceived in bores arranged in one of the sides of the toe portion of the last as shown in Figure 6. The arch' and underside of the heel portion. of the last may also be filled in with extensions or inserts and in fact any portion of the last may be 'made larger by the inserts inthe manner as suggested in Fig ares 6 and 8 so that the last will accurately fit the shoe, which is necessary to provide efficient work.
From the above description and disclosure of the drawings, it will be obvious that I have provided an apparatus for applying soles, top lifts and heels to adults and childrens shoes, and the arrangement of the pressure members with respect to the parts to be ap plied to the shoe as well as with the jack frame and toerest memberwill insure an even and uniform pressure which may be increased by rotating the jack member on the jack so that the cap 9 will engage the last. It thought from the foregoing descrip tion that the advantages and novel features of my invention will be readily apparent;
I desire it to be understood that I may make changes in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, providedthat such changes fall within the scope of the appended claims.
What I claim is: v I
1. A shoe manufacturing and repairing apparatus comprising a clamping base, a threaded jack post detachably secured to said clamping base and rising therefrom, a jack frame threadedly secured to said threaded jack post, a cap for said jack post, a last detachably associated with the jack frame, a toe rest adjustably associated with the jack frame and together with the latter adapted to support a last and pressure members Including flexible portions, elastic portions secured to the flexible portions and said pressure members adapted to be received by the jack frame and toe rest respectively with the elastic portions engageable with the parts shoe and carried by the jack frame and toe rest, said last being provided with a sleeved bore to receive the pin, and pressure members engageable with parts to be applied tothe shoe and carried by the rear portion, arm and toe rest. v

A shoe manufacturing and repairing apparatus comprising a clamping base, a jack post carried by said base, a jack frame ad justably associated'with the jack post, a toe rest adjustably secured to the jack frame, a last supported by the toe rest and jack post and detachably secured to the latter, and pressure members adapted to be associated with the last and toe member for the purpose specified.
4. A shoe manufacturing and repairing apparatus comprising a clamping base, a sleeve carried by the clamping base, a jack post detachably secured to said sleeve, a jack frame adjustably secured to said jack post, a cap for said jack post, a toe rest adjustably secured to the jack frame, a rear portion included in the jack frame, a cylindrical upright formed With said heel portion and provided With a bore, a pin detachably secured in said bore, a last received by said pin and supported by the cylindrical member and toe rest respectively, and pressure members adapted to be received by the jack frame and toe rest for the purpose specified.
5. A shoe manufacturing and repairing apparatus comprising a clamping base, an arm included in said base and provided With an opening, a thumb screw threadedly secured in said opening, a relatively short arm disposed in parallelism with the arm first mentioned, a base plate secured to the relatively short arm, a jack post detachably secured With respect to said base plate, a jack frame adjustably secured to the jack post, a cap for said jack post, a rounded intermediate portion included in said jack frame and receiving said jack post, an arm including inclined and horizontal portions, a rear portion included in said jack frame, a toe rest adjustably secured to said arm, a last sup-- ported by said rear portion and toerest, means for Varying the size of said last, means for securing said last to the rear portion, and pressure members received by the jack frame for the purpose specified.
