JIGGER R SHAKER. CONVEYER.
Application filed October 8, 1927, Serial No. 224,887, and in Great Britain october 20, 19536.
This invention relates to jigger or shaker' conveyers operated on or supported by rolling members working on a stationary iframe, hereinafter referred toas the underleg.
One object of the presentinvention is to provide a conveyer of this kind in which on 'lnululating ground the under-leg will adapt itself in a longitudinal direction te `the trough.
A further object of the present invention is to provide an improved construction or underleg.
The drawings iiled herewith illustrate the invention, by way of example, and the in` vention will be described with reference thereto. ln the drawings,-
Fig. l is a diagrammatic endview `of one torni oi underleg, showing the trough in position Fig. 2 is a side view;
Fig. 3 is a plan with the trough removed;
F ig. l is a section through the rolling member; and Fig. 5 is a view similari to Fig. 1 of a modified construction.
Referring to Figs. l to 1, the underleg eomprisesan under frame consisting of longitudinal channel members a, a connected transversely by angle iron members and an upper frame consisting of two longitudinal angle iron members d, Zand transverse members e, e. The upper` frame is adapted to support the trough Two semicircular pivotal supporting members c, c are disposed below the channel members a, a.
Between the longitudinal channel members a oi the under` irame and the longitudinal angle iron members d of the upper frameV are disposed hollow rollers which is disposed a ball 7L.
rlhe rollers are adapted to take the weight of the upper frame, trough and contents of the trough while the side thrust is taken by the balls.
ln F ig. 5 the trough is riveted by rivets `m to the transverse members e. Bolts a are passed through holes in the bottom (or lap) portion of the members ai and are secured by nuts o. These bolts and nuts serve as stops tor the rolling members and may be disposed on the top portion of the members d' or` the ends of the members e or d mav be turned inwards to form stops. VThe rollers g and balls 7i are removable for renewal purposes by removing these bolts and nuts.
The pivotal supports c allow the underleg g, g in each of d0 to take up a position parallel to the trough independently of the inclination et the lioor in the direction of the trough, one oit the supportsbeing packed it necessary to render the frame level transversely. 1With this arrangement the directional movement of the trough will be independent oi the undulations oi" the floor in the `direction oli the trough.
lWhat we claim and desire to secure by Let ters Patent is l. A shaker conveyer comprising a trough, an underleg supporting the trough, the said underleg `comprising an upper member, a lower member, rolling members disposed between the upper and lower members, and pivotal supports secured to the under-leg.
2. A shaker conveyer comprsino` atrough, an underleg supporting the troug 1, the said underleg comprising an upper member, a lower member, hollow rolling members disposed between the upper' and lower` members to take the weight'oi the troughing, and balls disposed between the upper and lower members to take` any side thrust.
3. A shaker conveyer comprising a trough, an underleg supporting the-trough, the said under-leg comprising an upper member, a lower member, hollow rolling members disposed between the upper and lower members to take the weight of the troughing and balls to take any side thrust inserted in the hollow rollers. A
1l. A shaker conveyer` comprising a trough,
an underleg supporting the trough, the said underleg comprising an upper member, a` lower member, hollowV rolling members disposed between the upper and lower members to take the weight of the troughing,
' balls disposed between the upper and lower members to take any side thrust, and pivotal supports seeuredto the underleg.
5. A shaker conveyer comprising a trough, an underleg supporting the trough., the said underleg comprising an upper member, a lower member, hollow rolling members disposed between the upper and lower members to take the weight el' the troughing, balls to take any side thrust inserted in the hollow rollers, and pivotal supports secured to the underleg.
6. A shaker conveyer comprising a trough, an underleg supporting the trough, the said underleg comprising an upper member, a
lower member, hollow rollino" members disf posed between the upper and lowermembers to take the Weight of the troughing, balls to take any side thrust inserted in the hollow rollers, and stops for keeping the rolling members in position.
7. A shaker eonveyer comprising a trough, an vunderlegV fixed to, and adapted to support, the trough, the said underleg Comprising an upper member, a lower member, rolling members disposed between-the upper and lower members, Vand pivotal supports secured to theunderleg; p n 8. A shaker eonveyer comprising a trough, an underleg xed to, and' adapted to support, the trougln'the said underleg Comprising an upper member, a lower member, hollow rolling members dispo `ed between the upper and 'lower members to take the weight of the troughing and balls to take vany side thrust inserted in thehollow rollers.
'9. A shaker conveyer eomprising a trough, an underlegfixed to, and adapted to support, the trough, the said underleg comprising an upper member, a lower member, hollow rolling members disposed between the upper and lower members to take the weight of the troughing, balls disposed between the v upper'and Vlower members to take any side thrust, and pivotal supports secured to the underleg.
10. A shaker eonveyer comprising n trough, an underleg fixed to, and adapted to support, the trough, the said under-leg Comprising an upper member, a lower momber, hollow rolling members disposed between the upper and lower members to take the weight of the troughing, balls to take any side thrust inserted in the hollow rollers, and pivotal supports secured to the underleg.
1l. A shaker conveyor comprisingr a trough, an under-log fixed to, and adapted to support, the trough, the said under-leg comprising an upper member, a lower member, hollow rolling members disposed bvtween the upper and lower members lo luke the weight of the trough, balls to take any side thrust inserted in the hollow rollers, stops for keeping the rolling members in position and pivotal supports secured to the underleg.
In testimony whereof, we ailix our signatures.
