My present invention relates ,to metal doors, windows andtlie like, and aims to devise structures of the general characterspecified above, which are simple in construction, easy and convenient to fabricate and to assemble, economical in theamount of labor and material required for their assembling, and which areneat and attractive in appearance and rugged in constructiom' Other ob; jects and advantages of the present invention will'in part be pointed out in'detail subsequently in this specification'and will in part be obvious to those skilled. in the art to which the present invention relates.
In the accompanying specification I shall describe, and in the annexed drawing illustrate, several illustrative embodiments of the articles of the present invention. It is, how
ever,- to be. clearly understood that my inven tion isnot limited to the specific embodimentsthereof herein shown and described for purposes of, illustration only.

Referring now to the aforesa d illustrative embodiments of the present invention, and more particularlyto the first of the aforesaid illustrativeembodiments of the present invention, as illustrated in Figs. .1 to 7,-inclusive, of the drawing,"10 indicates in general a metal doorpaiielpreferably of the hollow metal door. panel type of construction. this purpose the metal door panel 10 preferably comprises a substantially flat sheet metal base member 11 having the marginal portion 12 and the cooperating formed sheet metal member 13 having; the-bevelled portion 14: and the marginal portion 15.. y

I now insert into the slots aseries of welding lugs generally designated by reference character 30 and comprising in the arse of the present illustrative embodiment of the invention now being described the head portions 31 and 3.2 and the connecting shank portion 33, all as more clearly shown in F Yet the drawing. The head portions 31 and 3:2 of the lugs 30 are rectangular and of'a size to enable them to be passed into the slots QOwhen the lugs 30 are positioned with respect to their respective slots 20 as shoi vn in F lot the drawing. 1 7

I now provide one or more auxiliary door members, preferably trim members, and preferably aplurality of such trim members, one for each side of the panel of the door in which the panel is to beincorporated. For this purpose I prefer to employ a plurality of trim 3 members having the profile or cross section shown in Fig. 6 of the drawing. As shown in Fig. 6' of the drawing the trim lllellll'Jt-lfi, of which a plurality are there. shown, each being -designated by reference character-L40, each comprise the main web portion ll, the longitudinally (l1SpOSGClfl2I1g6 port1onu l2, the
transverse flange portion 43, and the Chan-- nelled portion as provided on its-interior with the channel 45. The trim, members 40 may be-continuously or otherwiseformed in a rolling operation from a strip or sheet of metal and may have any desired profile or cross section. I prefer, however, that such trim members shall be provided With the channelled portion a land the channel 45, or their equivalents, for a purpose subsequently to be described in considerable detail herein. 7 Associated with the-panel member 10 and the trim members 40 are a plurality of surrounding stile members, here designated by p eral panel portions, as desircc arrangement forms no part of thepresent inreference character50. This completes the assembling of the door described above and constituting the first of the aforesaid illustrative embodiments of the present invention. The advantages of the structures, embodying the principles of the present invention are numerous and of great practical importance. accordance With the principles of the present invention are simple in construction, requirfor their fabrication. also permit considerable economies in labor, material and power required for their fabrication. The structures are further oharacterized by their neatness and attractiveness in appearance and their ruggedness and long and satisfactory life; It may herebo stated that the method of forming theherein described illustrative. embodiments of the. present invention forms no part of theprea ent invention and is fully described and-illus trated in a'copending application of mine liled of even date herewith and entitled Methods of applying metal trims to doors and the like. l

This lug has been generally in dicated by reference character and ineludes the substantially rectangular head or end portion 31 and a lower end portion 32 which is not provided with a head. What I claim as my invention is:
