In a typical arrangement, numeral l desig nates the steam line to the mixing tank, and .2 the Water line, While 3 leadslto the suction pump 7. The siphon i extends into the mixing tank 5, and hinged lid G is a cover on the mixing tank 5. The numeral 9 represents the discharge from the steam pump to pressure treatment tanks D or E. Numerals l0 and 11 designate the -valves to the gravity pressure tanks E and D, While the valve 12 leads from the gravity tank D to the treatment regulating needle point valve D', and 13 represents the valve leading from the gravity tank -E to the regulating needle point valve E.
The numeral let designates the valve con- 4o nesting the steam boiler pressure with tank D, and 15 the valve connecting steam boiler pressure 'with tank E, While 16 represents the cheek valves to prevent flow of treatment from D or E into the steam line. Numeral 17 designates the chain wheels to operate valves 14 and 15 to `steam supply from the floor, while 18 is .the steam line leadingr to the steam pressure supply, and numerals 19 to 25, inclusive, represent the treatment lines leading to the different boilers. Numerals 32 and 33 in the drawings designate diagrammatie views of boilers adapted to be operato the boiler 26 represents a pressure gauge, and 2l' a retively oonneeted to the treatment lines 24 and 25, it being understoodlthat individual boilers 'may be vconnected to the lines 19 and 23 ir a similar manner. When valves 14 and l5 are closed, also valves 11, 1 2 andr 13. The Water valve 2 is then closed, and steam valve l opened thereby, admitting steam into the tank which thorn oughly agitates, dissolves and mixes the chemicals with the Water. The valve 1 is then j closed and 2 opened, iilling the. tank to any au desired point, after which valves 3,:9 and 1G. may be opened, andftheli uid chemical treatd ment/pumped by means o pump 7 from tank 5, through these open valves into tank E, when the mixing tank 5 is empty valve l() may be closed.
The ehemieals for D treatment are then put in the mixing tank 5 as'b'eiore,'and 'when thoroughly mined, valve 1l must be opened se thatathe liquid may he pumped to tank D.

The D and la' valves on line 25 nowl both being opened a small amount, the treatment can be adjusted through the D and E valve to get any desired strength on the D and test. lihe D and E valves may' be entirely closed it nec essary, should either treatment be too strong. This same operation will apply on the D and E valves to any line, as for instance, 19 to 25, inclusive, leading to boilers, and the water can be treated continuously to any degree of hardness. i i
