This invention relates to gummed tape dis pensing machines and has special reference to an adjustable roll holder for gummcd tape machines.

It is a well understood fact that gummed tape comesin various widths and machines have been devised for d spensing suchtape wherein a. roll ofthe tape. is supported on a shaft or axle which iscarried in turn by a pair of spaced standards, there being one standard on each side of the roll. Various methods have been devised to secure such standards in adjusted relation sothat they.

would be properly spaced for the particular width of gummed tape that was'being dispensed. Most of these methods involve the idea of,'by some means, bolting the footof the standards onto the body or supporting plate of the machine. ,Sucharrangements make it very inconvenient to change the sizes of rolls or to replace exhausted rolls by new ones. a

One important object of the present invention is toprovide a novel and improved arrangement of roll support for such machines wherein the standards are secured to the sup.- porting plate or body of the machine in a simple manner without bolting them down to the plate and yet so that they will be securely positioned in the desired adjustment. I v

A second important object of the, invenf, tion is to-iprovide an improved construction of roll-holder whereinthe shaft or bolt that supports the roll will also function to pre vent displacement of the standards from their adjusted position; t V

A third important object of the invention is to providean improved arrangement of base and standards so constructed that with the roll supported between the standardsthe tendency of the roll, after alength ofthe paper or'tape has been drawntherefrom, is to roll up on the drawn olf portion adjacent the body of the roll. 1 v With the above and other objects in View as will be hereinafter apparent-the invention consists in general. of certain novelvdetails of construction and combinations of parts hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and specifically claimed.
