The rollers 33, 70, and 83 are then continuously driven and strips 12 and 20 are thus drawn through the machine, the strip 12 being progressively formed about the bead strip 20 in the manner shownin Figures 3 to 11 which illustrate the operations of the machine in the sequence in which they are performed. The portion 112".v of strip 12 is left unfolded as shown in Fi ure 11 to provide means for anchoring the head in a tire carcass. i
It will be apparent from the foregoing that i the machine of the invention is adapted rapidly and effectively to cover continuous bead strips in preparation for use in tire building.

Apparatus of the class described comprising a support, means for feeding a strip of fabric havinga strip of bead 'inaterial thereon over said support means for folding and'shaping said fabric about said bead materialincluding a series of rollers journaled' on said support, the axes of saidrollers being substantially perpendicular to sa d support with the peripheries thereof positioned to be tangential to the bead material and said rollers being formed with progressively larger folding flanges for overlying said bead strip, and means for guiding the core strip into contact with the peripheries of the rollers.

5. Apparatus ofthe' class described, comprising means for continuously feeding a core strip and a covering strip intojuxtaposition,
