WRINGER;
Application filed November 30, 1926. Serial No. 151,806
According to" my invention the water from the wrmger is discharged into a spout constructed with two water chutes, each set inv 1 tailsare' within thescope of the invention: and
in one embodiment of the invention the bottom of the wringer frame,'or that part of it below andextending lengthwise ofthe rolls, is of a trough shaped formation and has a drainage orifice interjacent its ends and in another embodiment of the invention the wringer is provided with a trough separate from the frame and this trough islocated below the rolls and extends lengthwise of them. i In both embodimentso-f the invention the under side of the frame or trough is formed with a slideway arranged lengthwise of the rolls and the spout is adjustable in this slideway to bring either selected chute into position below the discharge orifice. I
For an understanding of they invention reference is to be had to the following description and accompanying drawings, in which:
Fig.1 is a fragmentary perspective view of a wrin'ger frame showing'the movable spout,
and
Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the movable" spout.
Fig. 3 is a perspective view of awringer showing the trough below the wringer rolls as forming part of the wringer frame, and
Fig. 4; is a similar view to Fig. 3 showing the trough bolted to the wringer frame below the rolls.
Like characters of reference refer to like parts throughout the specification anddrawings.
The bottom 56 of the wringer frame is of a trough shaped formation, as shown in Fig.
'1 for collecting the water from the wringer' and oppositely inclined water chutes and 61, for delivering the discharge from the orifice or aperture 57 to either selected side of the wringer; Beneath the movable spout 59 is a double inclined tray or table 62 extending beyond each side of the wringer to carry the water back to the container from which the clothes are being wrung and to guide the clothes into the next container.
On the ridge of the tray-or table 62 is a vertical fin 63 which enters a groove 64 in'the under side of thespout 59,-and assists the slideway 58 in maintaining the movement of "the spoutin a fixed path as the water chutes 6'0 and 61 are selectively brought into dis:-
charge relation with the orifice oraperture 57. 1 The water chutes 60 and 61- discharge in opposite directions and it ispossible by the use: of a movable spout having wateri chutes arranged in this way to-reverse the direction of the flow of the. water which collects in the Instead of forming a trough at thebottom of the wringer frame, the'trough'FO may be made separate fromthe frame, and bolted to it beneath the wringer rolls 71 as shown in Fig. 4, and extends lengthwise of the wringer .rolls. The under side of the trough is formed with a slideway extending lengthwise of. the wringer rolls and the spout is movable lengthwise of the slideway and is conveniently manipulated by a laterally projecting lug Having thus fully described'my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by LettersPatent is: i
1'. ,A wringer comprising a wringer frame, wringer rolls therein, a'drainage orifice at the bottom of the frame, and an adjustable spout having two water chutesset in opposite directions for delivering the discharge from the orifice at either selected side of the wringer,
movable lengthwise of'the rolls to bring either chute into operative relation with the 2. A wringer' comprising a wringer frame, wringer rolls therein, ajdrainage orifice at the bottom of the frame and an adjustable spoutbeneath the frame, movable lengthwise of the rolls and having two water chutes set in opposite directions, either of which may, by the lengthwise adjustment of the spout, be moved into operative relation with the orifice for delivering the discharge from the orifice at either selected side of the wringer.
' 3. A wringer comprising a wringer frame,
wringer rolls therein, a trough beneath and extending lengthwise of the rolls, a discharge Orifice for the trough, and an adjustable spout below the trou h having two water chutes set in opposite cl lengthwise of the rolls to bring either chute into operative-relation-with the discharge V 4. Awringer comprising a wringer'frame, wrmger rolls therein, avtrough beneath and extending lengthwise of the rolls, a discharge orifice forthe trough, an adjustable spout below the trough having two separate water chutes set in opposite directions which by selective adjustment delivers the discharge a orifice for the trough, a-spout movable length wise of the wringerrolls having two separate irections and movable water chutes set in opposite directions either of which may, by the adjustment of the spout, be movedinto operative relation with the orifice for delivering thedischarge at either selected side of the' wringer, and a double inclined drainboard with its ridge beneath the trough for receiving the discharge from the spout, said spout being movable lengthwise of the wringer rolls to bring either chute into operative relation with the orifice. v V
6. A Wringer as claimed in claim 1 in ,which a slideway is, provided beneath the frame and the spout is movable in this slideway' lengthwise of the rolls.
'7. A wringer as claimed in claim 4 in which a slideway is provided beneath the vtrough and the ridge of the tray is provided with a fin which enters acorresponding groove in the spout for guiding the movement of the spout lengthwise of the rolls.
