This invention relates to screens and has special reference to a screening mechanism particularly adapted for use in the screen# ing of material used in the making of concrete. .l
The principal object is to provide a device of this character of simple construction and efficient in operation. Y
lOther objects and advantages of the novel arrangement will appear in the further description of the invention.
Referring now to the accompanying drawing, forming part of this application, and wherein like reference characters indicate like parts:

rlhe embodiment here illustrated comprises a fabricated, frustopyramidally shaped structure indicated at 1, the bottom members 2 of which are slightly upturned at both ends to act as runners or shoes for illil convenience in transporting same, and these members are preferably of angle iron. rlhe upper horizontal side members `3 are of channeliron and at one end arcuate in form,
being turned downwardly as at 4l with their lower extremities terminating adjacent the end wall or the upright support 1, and which end wall is preferably entirely covered with a bulkhead or apron 5.
A hopper G having` flaring end walls and vertical side walls is mounted within the channels 3 by having depending members i" from the tvvo opposite sides thereof in which are mounted the two cross shafts or axles 8 mounted upon wheels or rollers 9 at the opposite ends thereof, said wheels or rollers being in diameter approximately equal to the depth of the channels 3 and designed to travel ywithin same. The depending members are rigidly fixed to the angle 10 'which surrounds the. bottom of the hopper and in which the latter is held by suitable short bolts 11 passing through the smaller angle iron rigidly fixed to the inner lower marginal edge of the hopper 6. The screen in the bottom of the hopper, indicated at 13,'is installed intermediate of the angles 10 and 12 so that by removing the bolts 11 the hopper may be raised and the screen changed when desired in the most f3. convenient manner possible.

During this dumping operation, as the forward axle 8 of the car proceeds it will engage the two upright lingers 15 mounted on a spring controlled shaft 16 suitably mounted transverse the arcuate ends of the channels 3; being so applied to this shaft in any desired manner as to normally bias the hopper in upright position as shown in Figure 1. In this manner provision is made for the easy return of the dumped hopper as the spring controlled shaft with its lingers engaging the axle of the car will tend to return same to its horizontal position and thereby assist in such return, which obviously may be made more or less forcible as desired.
llt is evident that the device may be made in any desired size or height so'thatfor eX ample wagons or tram-cars may be operated therebeneath, or such a device may be installed adjacent .a mixing box or machine with chutes leading therefrom for conven ience and adaptibility and that the device may be modified somewhat from that here illustrated without departing from the spirit of the invention.
Having thus described my invention, what l claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:
1. A device of the character' described comprising in combination an upright fabricated structure, a horizontally disposed track traversing the upper portion of the structure7 said track comprising spaced channel irons facing each other one end of same terminating downwardly and arcuately towards the structure forming a dumping portion of the track, a screening hopper reciprocally mounted within the track and selectively operable within either the hori- Zontal portion thereof for screening purposes or the dumping portion thereof.
