Vith the foregoing and other objects in view the invention consists in the combination and arrangement of parts to be hereinafter fully described, particularly pointed out in the claims and illustrated in the accompanying drawing which forms a part of this application and in which I Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the putter attachment.

Diversity of opinion is rampant, in the putting. Certain instructors or authorities stating that there is more individuality lIl putting than in any other department of golf and that no uniform method of playing this stroke is possible. Others recommend certain positions of the body, arms or legs etc. produce the best results. One result of the foregoing condition is that many of the leading players of the day, professionals and ama- 4 teurs alike, are frequently weaker when playing with the putter than when engaged with any other of their clubs. It is the intention of the present invention to definitely elimi nate this weakness.

The invention comprises an angular bar 1 which is formed, as shown in Fig. 2, with the somewhat U-shaped portion having what may be termed the base 2 from which the sides 3, 4c diverge, the side 3 having the angular extension 5 and the side 4. having the an gular extension 6, said extensions being identical as to shape and size and each extension having an apex 7 in its structure from which its sides extend at an angle of 90 degrees to each other.

The bar 1 shown in Fig. 1. is formed at its longitudinal center with a twist 8 which disposes this portion at right angles to the adjacent portions 3, 4, all of said portions being in a straight line and the ends 5, 6 of the bar being bent in a common direction at an angle of approximately 23 degrees to the main body portion thereof. Sleeve pads 9 are applied to or receive the ends of the bar 1.

In operation the ends of the bar 1 are applied to the players legs at a point above the knees, the apex 7 andthe sides of each extension 5 and 6 coming against the legs; or in Fig. 1 the points at which the ends of the bar are bent take this position. The

10, 11 is appliedv to the putter and secured by 1 the set screw 12. The stroke is made by now swinging the putter in the ordinary manner, the bracket and putter swinging from the bolt 13 as a center. In the form shown in Fig. 1 the bracket and putter will swing also from the bolt 13 as a center. The link 14 is adjusted with relation to the bar 1 to correspond to the position of the players legs, as he may stand with one leg slightly in advance of the other or with oneleg straight and one bent at the knee etc.

What is claimed is 1. In a putter attachment, an angular bar, a link adjustably connected to said bar, and a bracket pivotally connected to said link.

2. In a putter attachment, a bar having its longitudinal central portion twisted and its ends bent, a link adjustably connected to the twisted portion of said bar, and a bracket pivotally carried by said link.

3. In a putter attachment, a bar having its longitudinal central portion twisted at ight angles to the main body portion, the ends of said bar being bent in a common direction, a link adjust-ably connected to the twisted portion of said bar, and a bracket pivotally connected to said bracket.

6. In a putter attachment, an angular bar comprising a central approximately U-shaped portion, extensions formed at theends of the U-shaped portion, and a bracket pivotally connected to the base of the Ushaped portion and extending upwardly therefrom.
