My invention relates to containers in general, but more particularly to cans, or drums, for fluid, such as for example and more particularly, lubricating oils; and my primary object isto' provide simple and economical means for preventing resealing of the containers, after the opening of the same for removal of their contents, thereby preventing unscrupulous persons from removing the contents of the containers and substitutin other contents therefor and disposin 0 such substituted contents in place 0 the original contents.
Referring to the accompanying drawm Figure 1 is a broken plan view of the plugequipped ortion of a container constituting ent of m invention. Figure 2 is a sectional view ta 11 through this portion of the container, the section eing taken at the line 2 on Fig. 1 and viewed in the direction of the arrow. Figure 3 is a bottom plan view of the plug. Figure 4 is an end view of the cutter-equippe member of the lug, this member being viewed from the eft in Fig. 2; and Figure 5, an end new of this member viewing 1t from the right-hand end of Fig. 2, showing a ortion of the member broken away to disc ose a detail of the cutter.
In the form of container shown, the wall in which the filleropening is provided and which may be the top of the con-tamer, 1s represented at 6 and is shown as apertured; at 7 to which ortion an internally-threaded flanged bushing 8 is secured. The edge portion of the wall 6 surrounding the opening 7is deflected, as represented at 9, this deflection being shown as extending outwardly and affording an annular recess 10 in which the annular flange 11 of the bushing 8 is seated and in which it is secured, as for example by welding. The internally-threaded opening thus provided by the bushing for the container constitutes the filler opening thereof to receive a closure-plug.
The plug of the construction shown and represented at 12 is externally screw threaded as represented at 13 at which it is adapted to screw into the threaded opening in the bushing 8, a gasket 14 being preferably in- .terposed between the upper annular flange portion 15 of the plug and the opposing wall portion of the container.

The member 17 is of'such length and the slot and recess 19 so disposed that when the pm 20 extends into the recess 19, the member 17 will extend at opposite ends beyond the threaded portion of the plug, as shown in Flg. 2, the right-hand end of this member extending considerably beyond the side wall of the plug and being provided with an upwardly-extending cutting blade 21 which opposes the wall 6 of the can beyond the bushing 8 as shown.
The cutting blade 21 is shown as located in a recess 17 in the member 17 and pinned thereto as shown at 17', the blade being preferabl notched, as represented at 21, to inter ock with the member 17 as shown and brace it against displacement.

With the parts thus positioned, he then, by cantlng the plug, inserts it at its cutter portion into the filler opening and thereupon rights the plug and rotates it to engage its screw thread with the thread in. the filler opening, the member 17 in the act 106 place automatically shifting, under the. action of the spring 22, to the position shown in Fig. 2.
In the unscrewing of the plug the up er surface of the left-hand end of the mem r 110 means operating upon 17, which is preferably provided with an anti-friction roller 26, engages the underside of the bushin 8 thereby causing the memher 17 to rocfi upwardly at its cutter end, the cutter penetrating the wall 6 and entire- 1y cutting away the rtion of this wall in which the bushing 8 is located, and thereby preventing the re-eealing of the container.
While I have illustrated and described a particular construction embodying my invention, I do not wish to be understood as intending to limit it thereto as the same may be variously modified and altered. without departing from the spirit of my invention.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:
1. The combination with a container having a threaded opening, of a threaded closure-plug for said opening provided'with the unscrewing of said plug to mutilate the portion of the container in which said threaded opening is provided beyond the thread thereof.
2. The combination ,with a container having a threaded opening, of a threaded closure-plug for said opening provided with means operating upon the unscrewing of said plug to cut out the portion of said container in which said threaded opening is provided beyond the thread thereof.
3. The combination with a container having an opening and a threaded bushing at said opening, of a threaded closure-plug for said bushing provided with means operating -upon the unscrewing of said lug to mutilate the wall of the container in which said bushing is secured.
4. The combination with a container having an opening and a threaded bushing in said opening, of a threaded closure-plug for said bushing provided with means operating upon the unscrewing of said plug to out out said bushing.
5. The combination with a container having a threaded opening, of a threaded closure-plug for said opening provided with a cutter adapted, upon the unscrewing of said plug, to mutilate the portion of the container in which said threaded opening is provided beyond the thread thereof.
6. The combination with a container hav ing an opening and a threaded bushing in said opening, of a threaded closure-plug for said bushing provided with a cutter operating, upon the unscrewing of said plug, to mutilate the wall of the container to which said bushing is secured.
7. The combination with a container having a threaded opening, of a threaded closure-plug for said opening provided with a transversely-disposed member at its inner end and a cutter on said member adapted to cut out the wall portion of the container in which said threaded opening is provided beyond the thread thereof.
8. The combination with a container having a threaded opening, of a threaded closure-plug for said opening provided with a transversely-disposed member at its inner end and projecting at its ends beyond opposite sides of said plug and a cutter on one end of said member, for the purpose set forth.
9. The combination with a container having a threaded opening, of a threaded closure-plug for said opening provided with a transversely-disposed member rockably mounted on the inner end of said plug and projecting at its ends beyond opposite sides of said plug and a cutter on one end of said member, for the purpose set forth.
10. The combination with a container having a threaded o ening, of a threaded closure-plug for sai opening provided with a transversely-disposed member at its inner end and projecting at its ends beyond opposite sides of said plug and a cutter on one end of said member, said member being movable transversely of said plug, for the purpose set forth.
11. The combination with a container having a threaded opening, of a threaded closure-plug for said opening provided with a transversel -disposed member rockably mounted on t ie inner end of said plug and projecting at its ends beyond opposite sides of said plug and a cutter on one end of said member, said member being movable transversely of said plug, for the purpose set forth.
12. The combination with a container having a threaded opening, of a threaded closure-plug for said openin a member extending transversely of sai plug at the inner end of the latter, a pin on said plu said member containing a slot throug which said pin extends and at which said member is supported, said slot extending generally in the direction of the len h of said member and having an upwar ly-extending recess adjacent one end of said slot, and a cutter on said member, for the purpose set forth. 13.
