The mechanism herein Vdisclosed, consists o a rectangular frame 1 having parallel bars 2 intermediately-` andi/longitudinally disposed. The said bars 'function as carrying means for the plow hereinafter described. The frame is rigidly braced by rods 3 diagonally positioned as shown in Fig. 3. The front end of the 'frame is semi-circular in form as shown at A for the concentric position `of a guide wheel 4 in the curvature.

As a means :tor raising and lowering oit'y the Vliront end of the frame, I have provided a standard 2S rigidly attached to memberlS. Pivotally connected to the top end thereof is a lever 29,'the saidflever engaging inthe iorlts of an upright member 3() having a plurality of apertures longitudinally spaced thereon as shown in Fig. l. The said lever 29 has an elongated apertuie Centrally positioned therein to register with the apertures in the fork and to engage'rigidly therewith by' means ot a pin 31, thev said means being' a rigid support for the Alrame relativeto the *As a means for raising and lowering the plow l have provided a. toggle joint 34, one ine-mbe being pivotally connected 'to the beam of the plow, and the other rigldly connected toa spindle 35 rotatably mounted in a notched sector 36. Rigidly connected to the saidspindle is a lever 37 having a' pawl 38 slidably positioned thereon, the lower end of which will engage with the notches of the sector as stationary positioning means for the plow.
ln F ig. l is shown the plow positioned so that the share is on a level with the bottom oit the furrow wheel. `Whe1rit is vdesired to plow to a `greater depth, the toggle'inay be thrown to a straight alignment lowering the plow below the traction point of said wheel until one round has been made on the land which it is plowing. The second round the plow will be raised'to the level of the former furrow, at which time it will continne to plow to the depth ot the first furrow. 'Shale .low plowing may be obtained in a like manner but by reversing the movement, thatA is to say, raising the plow above the level 'of the traction point ot the'furrow wheel, and readjusting tor the second round to the level ot said wheel the depth of the first furrow.

Thek pivot point of the parallel bars 33 connectingwith the plow are placed on the under side of the beam so that the said beam will be supported in an upright position between the bars which is a vertical positioning means for the plow while in operation or disengaged.
The sulky mechanism herein disclosed may be employed for drawing listers, or other forms of groundbreaking devices, but the d awings show it in connection with an ordinary side plow. The frame may be increased in width so that other bars similar to bars 2 may be placed thereon forming what is' commonly kn'ownas gan0r plows. In such event the said frame l maybbe varied in its shape so that the plows will immediately follow each other without obstructing the turn ot the ground.
Such other modifications may be employed as lie within the scope of the appended claims. i
`Having thus described my invention, what l claim as new and desire to secure by Let- `l. In a sully plow, the combination of a trame mounted on wheels, parallel bars longitudinally and intermediately positioned in the frame, of diagonal bracing between the parallel bars and the sides of the frame, of a plow' with its beam centrally positioned relalive to the bars, of bars 'pivoted to the first of said bars and *being rearwardly inclined and pivotallyconnected to the plow beam, and means tov raise the plow so that the beam will pass' between the first of said bars.
2. Ina sulky plow, the combination of a framelcarried on wheels of large diameter to elevate the frame,of a pair of bars spaced apart and carried by the Jframe, of parallel lbars pivotally engaging the inside of first said bars, a plow and a beam therefor, pivotal connecting means onthe under side of y the beam, one at the rear and the other near the forward end of the beam to which the last saidbars pivotally engage so that the` beam 'and plow is vertically guided by the last of said bars, a toggle joint pivotally connected to the top edge of the beam adjacent the rear end and means to operate the same so that the bars, beam, and toggle joint will position between the `first said bars when the plow is raised, all as and for the purpose described.
