A. VIVERITO BAG CARRIER OR RECEPTACLE SUPPORT Filed Jan. 18. 1927 INVENTOR A. \/1 l/ER ATTORNEY rtaosa UNITED STATESPATENT ANTONIO VIVERITO, OF NEW YORK, Id. Y.
This invention relates to paper or waste BAG CARRIER on nnonrraonn surronr.
Application filed January 18,1827. Serial No. 161,943.
carriers and more particularly to a novel and improved means for facilitatlng the removal and transportation of a receptacle or container such as a burlap or canvas bag in which paper or waste matter is deposited.
One of the ob ects of my invention 18 to provide a carrier which may be easily moved and shifted from place to place such the floor of a manufacturing plant or e as on stablishment wherein it is desired to provide a ready means for recelvlng waste materlal.
Another object of my invention is to construct and provide a bag carrier designed to support a receptacle or container such as a common burlap or canvas or heavy waste material bag so that light may be deposited therein and shifted from place to place as desired thera-nce of cleanlin manufacturing workers.
without labor another means or instrumentality 1 plants and constituting n the furess and sanitation in many To enable others skilled in the art, to which the invention pertains, to fully understand and appreciate my invention that it may be constructed and used in the manner and for the purposes hereinafter to be pointed out, reference is had to the accompanying drawing showing a preferred form thereof wherein Fig. 1 is a view showing t Fig. 3 is a detail, partl he carrier when showing the carrier when receptacle being shown 111 y in section showin the locking means for the hinged gates.
line 44: of Fig. 2.
Fig. 4 is a sectional view taken on the Fig. 5 is a sectional view showing the detail of the hinge for said gates.
Referring now to the drawings wherein like reference characters designate correspending parts throughout the several views,
5 designates a platform which may be square shaped or uration and which is light metal. support for any other desired configpreferably of wood or The platform constitutes a the bottom of a bag or container, shown in dotted lines for instance as deposited.
manufacturing exped in Fig. 2 into which the waste or material is If so desired, the platform may be constructed in the form of a' meshed frame or in any other desired manner as shown, the platform is equipped with rollers 6 mounted in suitable bearings and with brackets 7 whereby it may be fastened to I the bottom of the said platform, thus facilitating the moving of the devicelfrom one place to another on the floor of a manufacturing plant for sample. 7
vRigidly secured to the corners of the platform there are provided three uprights or standards 8, 9, 10 which are connected by segmental bands or hoops, 11, 12, 13, sub stantially equi-distant apart. The uprights or standards and the bands or hoops constitute a rigid vertical structure, being of a height to accommodate and support a waste 2 paper bag for instance such as the common burlap or canvas bag. As shown by Fig. 5, the uprights or standards are preferably of angle iron and permit of ready connection to the corners of the platform.
Pivotally connected to the opposite standards 8, 10, there are provided two gates or closures adapted to be connected to each other and locked so as to completely enclose the bag. I have therefor connected the ends of the segmental bands or hoops 11, 12, 13 to the angle irons or uprights by means of a fastening bolt 14 and nut 15.
The gates consist of short, curved bands 16, 17, 18 pivotally connected as at 19 to a bracket20, said bracket being secured to the upright or support by a short bolt and nut. Connected to the opposite ends of the bands of each gate is a vertical support or upright 21 of the same height as the attached uprights or supports 8, 9, 10. One of the supports or uprights of the swinging gate or section is equipped with apertures forthe passage of lugs 22 on the opposite support or upright and which are locked together by means of a plate 23 and latch 24 adapted to be shifted by the finger extension 25. The top of certain of the supports is provided with sliding bolts 26 which may be moved 100 upwardly and downwardly by the pin 27 to engage and become disengaged from the bag supported thereon.
lt'will thus be seen that when the gates are in their open position, as shown by Fig. 105 1, the bag may be positioned within the framework or open casing consisting of the vertical supports and the connected segmental bands or hoops, whereupon as the gates or sections are closed and interlocked, the 110 bag is then properly supported by the structure in such manner as to permit the deposit of waste paper and material therein. The device maybe moved about with facility and ease, affording a convenient method cated segmental hoops and vertical standards adapted to be interconnected completing an enclosure for a bag or receptacle.
2. A. carrier of the class described comprising a platform having floor rollers, a frame carried by said platform and consisting of a plurality of angle iron supports and segmental connecting hands, a pair of swinging sections each comprising segmental bands hingedly connected to opposed angle irons, vertical standards rigidly connected to the ends of the last mentioned bands and adapted to be interconnected and locked completing an enclosure for a bag or recap tacle supported on the top of said enclosure.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
ANTONIO VIVERITO.
