This invention relates to power wheelsand particularly to power wheels such as are,
used'in connection withoil well rigs and the like- Specifically the invention relates to bull Wheels, calf wheels, band wheels and the like. For the purpose ofsimplicity and clearness I will hereinafter refer'to the in: vention as a calf Wheel with the proviso that it is not limited in all its aspects to calf wheel construction. Galfwheels areusually The main object of the invention is to provide a novel hu'b structure whereby the wheel may be conveniently slipped over, the end of the shaft and securely fastened thereto by bolts or other suitable fastening devices.
In order to understand the construction and advantages of this invention, reference should be made to thefollowing description in connection with the accompanying drawings in which: V

Fig. 3 is a sectional view through a'modified form of hub. r The shaft 1 isprovided with gudgeons 2 and 3, the latter being on an inner hub member 4, fast to the end of the shaft 1. The inner hubt has an annular flange 5 with bolt openings 6 by means of which the outer hub of the wheel may be secured to the shaft. The outer end of the inner hub is provided with a spider 7 which carries the gudgeon 3. V V e The wheel is illustrated as comprising a slip-on outer hub of ring-form" having bolt openings 9 adapted to aline with the opening 6 in the inner hub 4 whereby the ringshaped outer hub 8, having'beenslipped on thecylindrical portion 10 of the inner hub may be; secured to the flange 5 on the inner hubby the bolts 11. Fastening devices 10 may be employed to fasten theinner hub member 4 to the tubular'shaft 1 so, the hub. member 4 will rotate with it.
The ring-shapedou-ter hub 8 is provided with an outstanding annular fiange 12 located approximately midway between the endsof the outer hub. There are two sets 13 yarid 14 of tangentially disposed lugs,v

The spokes are illustrated as commercial angles one flangeof each angle being fastened to a lug, the other flange lying against the face of the; flange 12 so thatthe spokes will be rigidly heldagainst twisting, and since they may resist torsional strains, tendency of the rim to weave or get out of round'will be reduced to a minimum.- The rim of the wheel consists of the cant16, on the opposite faces of which are the'segmental plates 17 and 18 grouped together in circular series and fastened one to the other as well as to the cant, by fastening devices 19 "and 20.
