The invention is substantially and preferably made as follows: The site housing the inventionis shown at 1 of which 2`are the walls, 3 the floor and 4 the lceiling.` An up-` right partition 5 divides the site or room into two parts 6 being the partcontaining the device and 47 the outer court. In` 5 are holes or apertures 8 most of whichare at the same height from the floor, but` others `as 9, higher and others 10 lower than the'rest. Opposite the said canvas 18 and inside of 6 against the wall 2 is a series of looking glasses 17 and above these are the illuminators or lamps 18. y

A turnstile 19 adjacent to the pay booth 20 at the entrance 21 and a baffle gate 22 adjacent to the exit 23 lead the patrons into and'out of ythe court 7. Y

The, operation of the device is essentially and preferably as follows: The patron enters at 21 passes through the turnstile 19 plaoes his head in the aperture-8. Reflected on the glass 17 he sees himself dressed up as a Woman for instance, for on the opposite side of the partition is the drawing or paintingV of a Woman but without a face attached thereto-the patron supplying his face instead. A second patron say a lady is looking into an adjacent aperture and sees herself dressed as a man, and a child looks into the lower hole 10 and sees itself as a dog or monkey or the like. -A very tall person peers into the aperture 9 and beholds himself as a skeleton for instance.

As the invention is generic in someof its aspects it is not limited to the' particular 'construction shown or described, `but also contemplates the employmentof such equivalents as fairly fall Within the scope ofthe claims:

While it would be, of course, less expensive to have individual looking glasses or mirrors opposite each of the said fixed figures, one long mirror can be used, if desired.

It will therefore be understood that various changes ma be made in the form, proportion, size an `detail of the several structures shown, as Well as the number and position of'certain elements used, without departing from the spirit of the invention.

I claim:

1. The combination in an amusement de vice, of an upright partition, a flexible member stretched along the said partition, a plurality of figures mounted` on the said flexible member each lackin a face, the said partition and the said fiexile member having a plurality of registering apertures therein where the faces of the said figures would normally appear, and a plurality of looking glasses mounted opposite the said flexible member.

2. The combination in an amusement device, of an upright partition, a fiexiblemember stretched along the said partition, a plurality of figures mounted onlthe said flexipartition and the said flexible member having apertures therein where the faces of the said figures would normally appear, and a pluraltiy of looking glasses mounted opposite the said flexible member and so arranged that two people can use two contiguous apertures and see themselves as well as each other. l

3. The combination in an amusement device, of anV upright partition, a plurality of figures drawn in series on the said partition each figure lacking a face, the said partition having a plurality of apertures therein where the said faces would normally appear, and a footboard running longitudinally. along the said partition and having a space thereunder.

The combination in an amusement device, of a vertical surface, al plurality of fixed figures mounted on the inner side of the said surface each lacking a face and having a plurality of registering apertures therein where the faces of the said figures would normally appear, and al plurality of looking glasses mounted opposite the said vertical Surface. y

5. The' combination in an amusement dcvice, of a vertical surface, a plurality of fixed figures mounted on the inner side of the said surface each lacking a face and having a plurality of registering` apertures therein where the faces of the said figures would normallyV appear, and a plurality of looking glasses mounted opposite t-he said vertical surfaces and so arranged that two people can use two contiguous apertures and see themselves as well as each the other.

6. The combination in'an amusement device, of an upright partition, a flexible memlber comprising fabric stretched along the said partition, a plurality of figures mountled on the said fabric each lacking a face,

the said partition and the said fabric having a plurality of registering apertures therein where the faces of the said figures would normally appear, and i reflectors mounted opposite the said fabric.

7. The combination'in an amusement dcvice, of a room, a partition dividing off the vsaid room into two parts, one containing a plurality of figures on one side of the said partition each lacking a face. a suitable reiecting medium mounted opposite the said figures, and suitable means of illumination; and a passageway on the other side of the said partition; the said partition having a kplurality of apertures registering with the GEORGE FRANCIS MYERs.'
