r the the head 10 is locked with the nut as clearly indicated in Figs. 2 and 3 and consequently the inner ends of the levers are swung rotatively moving the outer ends of the levers lass the latch reaches the cam 22 the further movement of the nut with the latch forces the inner end of the latch inwardly and the outer end of the latch 16 outwardly to clear the walls of the notches 15. The nut is then screwed in by turning the handles 12 and as it is screwed in it forces the outer ends of the levers 6 inwardly and the outer ends of the levers outwardly against the hook 5 sealing door. The movement of the latch after the e11- gagement with the cam 22 carries the inner ends of the lovers 6 slightly beyond the desired position and as the nut forces the head 10 inwardly it carries with it the fingers 18. Due side oithe finger engages a cam 23 extending outwardly from the plate 21 which :lorcihly rocks the head 10 in a reverse direction so as to finally position the lovers in their radial or desired position. This positioning olthe latch mechanism throughthe fingers 18 on the cam 23 is desirable so that as the nut is screwed outwardly in releasing the door carrying with itthe head and latch 16 the latch will be in position when the nut has reached a releaseposition as shown in Fig. 3 to permit the inner end of the latch 16 to swing over the retarding ring 24:. It will be understood that as the head moves inwardly the inner end of the latch is in engagement with the retarding shoulder 24 so as to loclrthe latch 16 out of the notch 15 until the nut is again brought outwardly to the position shown in Fig. 2 so that with the initialreturn movement of the nut the latch is held out of the notches 15 until the nut has moved outwardly a sufficient distance to bring the levers to a position releasing pres sure on the door and the flange 5. At this point the latch snaps oit oi the ring 24.- and piclrs up the first notch as it passes with the nut and swings the head. 10 in a return direction until the stop 21 is reached. This return swinging of the head swings the inner ends of the levers rotatively and draws the outer ends of the levers inwardly to clear the flange 5.

In a door closure apparatus the combination of a door; a lever pressure system on the door comprising a. rotative lever actuating head; a post on which the head is mounted; a nut screwed on the post actuating the head; devices positively locking the head with the nut to swing the levr means :mtomatically releasing said devices permitting the continued movement of the nut to set the levers: and li'luil'lillllSIl] retarding the re-loching of the devices on the return movement of the nut.

In a door closure apparatus, the comhination of a door; a lever pressure system on the door comprising a rotative lever actuating head; a post on which the head is mounted; a nut screwed on the post actuat ing the head; devices comprising a latch mounted on the head positively locking the head with the nut to swing the levers, and a. cam on the door acting on the latch. to release the same with the turning of the head; and means returning the head to position the lovers as the nut advances.
8. In a door closure apparatus, the combination of a. door; a lever pressure system on the door comprising a rotative lever actuating head; a post on which the head is tarding ring into which the latch is moved as the nut advances, and a cam operating 10 on the head moving the head in a return direction as it is advanced under the influence of the nut.
