M invention relates to cartons, and more particularly to closing flaps therefor, adapted to provide an interlocked closure for the carton, Without requiring the sealing thereof. In cartons made from heav stock, it is difficult to provide an interloc ing end flap` *f structure, which can be closed in over the goods within the carton, and secured without taping or cement, by means of intereni gaging 'hooks or the like on the ends of the iaps.

There is a type'of cartons in which the Iiaps may be secured togetherin interlocked relation by arranginfr them 'y and then de- 115` pressing all iaps well into the box so. that the interlocking can take place. This form of setting up a closing arrangement fora cartontis not possible where there are goods within the ',carton.

The aps A and D are substantially the 1same and have edges A1 and D1 lwhich form diagonals as in the instance of edges` B1 and C1. The'two iiaps are then formed in curves A2 and D2, forming hooks. The tips 60 of the two flaps extend straight across as at Aa and'Da, and the remain1ng edges ex tend substantially in\ alignment Iwith tlie score lines from which lthese edges extend, but at a slight slant.

. In setting up the carton iiaps -for closing Y i. the end of the box,l flaps B and Care yclose by bending down B and then bending C over the top oi it. Flap D is then bent down, and the hook portion thereof will V 'engage under the diagonal edge of flap B.

Flap A is `then bent down. .I provide a score line A5 across this iiap, which will permit the iiap to be bent-so that the portion segregated by the score line can be thrust under the diagonal edge of flap yB. When this is done and the flap A is pressed down against the threeV iiapsf already in place,

Thus the entire carton end. is closed and locked shut without use of tapes, cement or other added means of security.

Having thus described my invention, what 35 i I claim as newand desire to secure by Letters Patent; is f l 1. \In a carton having a plurality of lock-* u ing closure fla s, ablank formed into four Walls, adapte tol form ya rectangular enclosure, and having end flapsV to"form1an end closure, said flaps being formedof triangular shape with one edge adapted'4 to lie diagonally' part way across the box, and
