My invention relates to toilet paper holders, especially designed for holding rolls of toilet paper, and it is a distinct and practical improvement to overcome certainpractical objections to, and defects in the present types of toilet paper holders.

The object of my present invention is the provision of a holder having means that can be readily and quickly sprung apart by the ends of the roll when applying a roll to the holder, or for removing the roll therefrom.

A further object of the invention is the provision of roll supporting means which can be gradually sprung apart by the ends of the roll by merely forcing the roll upwardly between the supporting means.

A still further object of the invention is the provision of a. paper roll made from a single piece of flat strip material having its roll supporting ends provided with inclined planes terminating in outwardly directed arc shaped surfaces to provide bearings for the ends of the paper cylinder of the toilet paper roll to rotate upon.

A further ob ect of the invention is the provision of a toilet paper holder which possesses advantages in points of simplicity and efiiciency, and, at the same time proves itself comparatively inexpensive in cost of manufacture.

With the above and other objects in view, the invention consists in the novel features of construction, arrangement and combination of parts hereinafter more fully described and finally pointed out in the claims hereto appended.

Referring to the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification, wherein like characters of reference denote similar parts throughout the several views:

In carrying out the aim of my present in? vention, I employ a yoke shaped element formed from a single piece of more or leSS resilient metallic flat strip stock and said element includes an intermediate portion 1, a pair of opposed forwardly directed

5 and 6 is bent inwardly and upwardly at acute angles to provide the inclined planes 7 and then the upper or free ends of the inclined plane portions 7 are bent outwardly and curved upwardly to provide arc shaped bearings 8 for the ends of the paper cylinder 9 of the toilet paper roll 10 to rotate upon.

As will be apparent from Fig. 3 of the drawings, the

2 and 3 are capable of being sprung apart by the ends of a paper roll coming in contact with the inclined planes 7 when in serting the roll upon` the bottom of the holder. The

5 and 6 will return to their normal positions just as soon as the end of the paper cylinder 9 of the roll registers with the arc shaped bearings which will permit the bearings to enter the ends of the paper cylinder, as is manifest, so that the roll of paper can rotate thereon when withdrawing the paper from the roll.

The many advantages of the herein described invention will readily suggest them,- selves to those skilled in the art to which it appertains.

I do not wish to be understood as having limited myself to the exact details of construction shown and described, but desire to have it understood that the invention I have shown in the drawings is merely illustrative, as it is manifest that various minor changes may be made in the exact construction and particular arrangement of parts without departing from the spirit of my invention, hence I reserve thev right to make any such changes, or modifications as may fairly fall within the scope of the appended lclaims when fairly construed.

What I claim is:

1. A roll paper holder comprising a U- shaped member, a pair Aof 'rlght angular shaped resilient arms depending from the ends of the U-sliaped member andeach arm having it lower free end bent inwardly and upwardly to provide'inclined planes terminating at the upper ends in arc shaped paper roll supports.

A2. A roll paper holder comprising, an intermediate base portion terminating at its ends in forwardly directed arm portions, said arm portions being' bent at their forward ends at a right angle thereto and directed arc shape s depending rected` downwardly, to provide expansible arms, said depending arms being bent inwardly and upwardly at their lower ends to provide inclined planes which terminate at their u per ends in outwardl dimembers for the en s of the cylindrical core of a toilet paper roll to rotate upon.

3. A paper roll holder comprising, an intermediate base portion for attachment to a support,'ar1ns cxtendinvforwardly from the ends of said intermediate base portion, the forward ends of said arms being bent and directed downwardly at a right angle thereto, the lowerends of said downwardly directed arms terminating in inclined members to permit the arms to be sprung apart by theA ends of a roll of paper being forced upwardly between the inclined members and arc sha ed members terminating from said incline members for a roll of paper to rotate upon.
