vide a device of this character which will deposit a predetermined quantity of liquid on the backs of the rodents at each movement of the movable section of the device.
A still further object of the invention is to provide means for registering the number of rodents passing through the device.
With the foregoing and other objects in view which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the combination and arrangement of parts ant. in the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed. it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed, may be made within the scope of what is claimed. without departing from the spirit of the invention.

Referring to the drawings in detail, the reference character 5 indicates the body portion of the device which is hollow and provided with feet 6 formed with openings to accommodate securing screws, whereby the device may be securely held in position at a point directly in front of the opening or hole through which the rodents pass.
Supported within the body portion 5. is an upper tank or container 7, which has a threaded opening formed in the bottom 8 thereof, for the reception of the threaded portion 9 of the pipe 10. This pipe 10 extends an appreciable distance above the bottom 8 of the receptacle 7 as clearly shown by Figure 5, and is providedwith an opening 11 disposed directly above the bottom 8, for purposes to be hereinafter more fully de scribed. Below the bottom 8 andlformed in the pipe 10 is an opening 12, which is the dis charge opening to allow fluid to pass from the pipe 10. The reference character 13 indicates a pipe'adapted to move withinthe pipe 10, the pipe 13 being provided with openings 14. and 15 respectively, the opening 14; being designed to register with the opening 11 when the pipe 13 moves to the limit of its downward movement to allow fluid to pass from the tank 7 and into the pipe 13.
hen the pipe 13 moves upwardly, the openings 12 and 15 are brought into registry to allow a quantity of liquid that has passed into the pipe 13 to flow from the pipe 13 and into the movable receptacle 16.
Plugs 17 and 18 respectively are positioned in the pipe 13 at points beyond the openings 14 and 15 as clearly shown by Figure 5 so that the pipe 13 is divided, providing a fluid containing compartment.
As shown by Figure 5, the lower end of the pipe 13 is threaded, so that it may be positioned in a threaded opening formed centrally of the movable container 16 so that movement of the movable container 16 will be imparted to the pipe 13 to deposit a quantity of liquid in the container 16.
Openings 19 are formed in the bottom of the container 16 to allow liquid to pass therethrough and onto the backs of the rodents passing under the container 16.
As before stated, the container 16 is movable with the result that when a rodent passes under the member 16, the member 16 is elevated by its contact with the back of the rodent to accomplish the movement of the pipe 13 as previously described.
The reference character 20 indicates an arm that is secured to the movable member 16 and extends laterally and upwardly as shown by Figure 6, where the same isprovided with a pivoted finger 21 adapted to engage the teeth 22 formed on the wheel 23 that is pivotally mounted on the body portion 5.
Extending laterally from the wheel 23 is a tooth 24 that is adapted to engage the teeth 25 of the registering mechanism so that when the member 16 is moved upwardly by a passage of a rodent thereunder, the movement of the member 16 will be recorded to 5 the end that it may be determined whether or not the device has been operated to accomplish its purpose, and at the same time indicate the number of rodents that have passed through the device.
I claim 1. In a device of the character described, a body portion,a tank mounted in the upper portion of the body portion, a movable tank under the first mentioned tank, a measuring pipe carried by the movable tank and adapt ed to receive material from the first mentioned tank, said pipe adapted to deposit material into the movable tank, and said movmy own,
able tank having-openings to permit mateing openings adapted to register with the openings in the first mentioned pipe to permit fluid to pass into the last mentioned pipe, and said lastmentioned pipe adapted to dis charge fluid into the movable tank, and said movable tank having discharge openings.
