As a feature of this disclosure that the out lets for the electric current to supply the heaters 14 are positioned close together so as to obtain the greatest possible number of outlets with the least length of arm.
The units 13 are conventional forms of double-end sockets including open end shells 27 into opposite ends of which are demountably screwed plugs 28 and which plugs are connected electrically to the heaters 14 by flexible cables-29. The double-end sockets are positioned exteriorly of their associated arms, and project laterally on opposite sides of the arm as particularly shown in Figure 3. This disposition permits the use of. a standard form of socket and disposes the sockets of the in the closest possible relation considered longitudinally of the arms. In order-further to obtain a maximum number of heatersupplied from a short length of an arm, the plugs 28 are wired to receive more than one cables 29. In one embodiment of the invention it has been found practicable to supply two heaters (as shown inFigurel) from each plug. This would mean that four heaters can be supplied from a single socket.
For the purpose of mounting the socket units 13 in place the underside of each arm is provided with a plurality of smooth openings 30 which are positioned as close together as the dimenslons of the sockets will permit. Loosely positioned ineach of the openings is a tubular reduced neck extension or nipple 31 shown in Figure 4. The end of the nipple 31 is inserted into the'up'standing lug 32 which forms part of the socket unit 13. The lug is secured to the projecting end arm engages the upper end of the nipple and "when'tightened secures the parts firmly in place.
In constructing a chandelier it will be understood that main leads 35 are contained in the support 10 and iootbracket 11 with sufiicient excessive length at the upper end to provide the necessary electric connection with the house mains. Each arm is provided with its ownwiring which includes a pair of main leads 36 and 37 which project out of the open end of the arm and are designed to be connected to the end of the dependent leads 35 in an approved connection indicated symbolically by the soldered connection at 38.
As shown in Figure 5, the main leads are connected respectively to two contact points 39 and 40 of the four-point switch 21. From the corresponding other points 41 and 42 of the switch extend heater leads V 43 and 44 which extend lengthwise of the arm to the socket nearest the foot bracket. From the heater leads extend branch leads 45 which extend through the nipples 31 to supply electric current to opposite ends of the'sockets' 13. From the fixed contact points 41 and 42 ot the switch also extend pilot light leads 4(5 and 47 which supply the pilot light 23.
From the construction disclosed it is apparent that ready accessibility is provided to the several electric leads for the removing of the cover 17 provides access to the main leads 36 and 37'; tothe heater leads 43 and 44 and to one end of the branch leads 45. Having thus described my invention, I claim:

An article of manufacture constituting one of a series of separable arms on a chandelier, provided with means for securing the same in place on the chandelier, said arm provided along one side with a plurality of openings, a plurality of complete electric sockets, one for each opening and positioned exteriorly of the same, means for securing each socket to the arm at its associated opening and conductors in the arm havin branches extending through the opening an connected electrically to the sockets.

A chandelier for supplying electric current to a plurality of heatersin the process of hair waving, comprising a depending support, a foot bracket provided with means for supporting a socket carrying arm, a hollow tubular member constituting a socket carrying arm demountably secured at one end to said means and adapted to contain electric conductors, a plurality of removable electric sockets each complete in itself, spaced apart longitudinally along said arm and adapted to connected electrically to the conductors in the arm.
