For holding the cup in place, a staple 3' is provided. The base of the staple-1s attached tothe base 1 of the form, and -the upright ends 4 are formed into hooks 5, which are embedded in the cup 2 andthereby hold v it in place.

It will `thus be seen that I have provided metal, the -rib 10 as inthe preferred form made from cork. 'Y Having thus described my invention, what I desire tosecureby United States Letters Patent is:

1. In a device of the class described, a base,

a projection of said base on which' to form the snout of thel animal, a resilient cup having a flattened portion at thefront which forms the head of the animal, and means for .attaching the said cup to the base of the structure, the said means consisting of a cross rib attached to said base adjacent the inside of the front wall of vsaid cup, a staple attached to said base and having upright ,members provided with hooks embedded in said cup, the front of said cup being supported between the said cross member and the uprights of said staples.

2.In a device of. the class described, in

onwhich to form the snout of the animal, a rubber lhemispherical cup having a flattened portion at the front which forms vthe head of the animal, the front end of said cup supported by staples having a pair of prongs which are embedded in said cup and a cross member attached to said base and bearing -againstlthe inner front face of saidcup. f 3. In a device of the class described, in combination, a base, a projection of said base on which to form the snout of the animal, a rubber hemispherical cup having'v a flattened portion at the front" which forms the head ofthe animal, means for fastening the front portion of said cup to the base, the

4. In a device of the class described, in combination, a base, a projection of said base on which to form the snout of the animal, a rubber hemispherical cup which forms the head of the animal, means for fastening the front portion of Said cup to .l the base, the rear portion being free, the

said fastening means consisting of a staple 10 'having a base attached to the first-mentioned base, and arms projecting upward from' said base having hooks at the ends for holding said cup in place, a rib attached to the front l part of said base forming the upper portion of the snout of the animal and another rib at right angles to the first-mentioned rib and bearing against lthe inside of the front portion of the cup, the said cup supported lhetween said uprights of the staple and last mentioned rib.
