PULLEY.
Application filed July 31,
My invention relates to pulleys, and particularly to pulleys for V belts, and the particular object of my invention is to provide a new and improved pulley of this type. In. the drawings accompanying this specification and forming a part of this applicationI have shown, for purposes of illustration, three forms which my invention may assume. In these drawings;
Figure l is aview partly in section and partly in elevation showing the first form of my invention illustrated herein, while Figures't2 and '3 are fra entary sections showingkthea second and t ird embodiments of my invention illustrated herein.
lhe embodiment of my invention shown in Figure 1 comprises a hub means 11 provided with an annular felloe 12 having a flat peripheral face 13, and a pair of annular members 14; disposed side by side upon the peripheral face 13 of the felloe 12, each provided with a flat base pprtion 15, each secured in position upon t e hub means 11b shrinking the base portion .15 about the is loe 12, and each provided on each side of the base portion 15 with complementary upstanding portions 16 together forming a groove 1? adapted to receive a V belt 1?; as shown.
fhe embodiment of my invention shown in Figure 2 comprises a hub means 21 provided with an annular felloe 22 having a fiat peripheral face 23, and a pair of annular members 24 disposed side by side upon the peripheral face 23 of the felloe 22, each provided with a flat base portion 25, each secured in osition by screws 26 passing through the ase portion into the ielioe 22, and each provided on each side of the base portion 25 with complementary upstanding portions 27 together iorming a V groove 28 adapted to receive a V belt 29 as shown.
The embodiment of my invention shown in Figure 3 comprises a hub means 31 provided with an annular ifelloe 32 having on its pe ripheral face a central rib 3S flanked on either side by a seat 34:, and a pair of annular'members 35 disposed side by sideupon the peri herai face of the feline 352 one-in each or t e seats 34 abutting that side of the rib 33, secured in position upon the hub means 11.]. by plates 36 themselves held in pc- 1926. Serial No. 126,309.
sition by bolts 37, and each comprising a base portion 38 flanked by complementary upstanding portions 39 together forming a V groove 40 adapted to receive a V belt 41 as shown.
.From the above disclosure it will be obvious to those skilled in the art that I have provided means accomplishingat least the prmcipal object of my invention. At the same time it will also be obvious to those skllled in the art that the particular embodlments of my invention herein shown and described may be variously changed and modified without departing from the spirit of my invention or sacrificing; the advantages thereof, and particularly that any number of annular members may be employed to accommodate any number of belts, and it will therefore be understood that the disclosure herein is illustrative only, and that my invention is not limited thereto.
ll claim: I
l. A belt pulley comprising huh means having an annular felloe connected therewith, said ielloe having a radially projecting rib spaced inwardly from an edge thereof, an annular member substantlally V- shaped in cross sections, positioned on said felloe in contact with said rib and means for Securing said annular member in position on said felloe.
2. A belt pulley comprising hub means having an annular ielloe connected therewith, said felloe having a radially projectinn; rib spaced inwardly from an edge thereof, annular member substantially V- shaped in cross section, positioned on said 'Eelloe in contact with said rib and ring proiecting radially beyond the peripheral edge of said felloe and secured to said i'elloe for holding said annular member in position on said i elloe.
A belt pulley comprising; hub means having an annular felloe connected therewithysaid felloe having a radially projecting; rib spaced inwardly from the edges thereof, a pair oi annular members substantially V-shaped in cross section, positioned on said -Eelloe in contact with said rib and means tor securing said annular members in position on said ielloe.
t. A. belt pulley comprising hub means having an annular felloe connected there'- eral edges of said felloe and secured to said with, said felloe having a radially projectfelloe for holding said annular members in ing rib spaced inwardly from the edges position on said felloe. 19 thereof, a pair of annular members substan- In testimony whereof I hereunto afiix my tially il -shaped in cross section, positioned signature.
