Application ined March ai, 192@ gem; 11g@ 95,8.
This invention relates to improvements in holders for use upon spray nozzles and which contemplates the provision of a supporting base providing a channel portion within which the nozzle may rest and aclamp extending over an appreciable portion of the channel for securing the adjacent end of a hose therein. j
Another object of the invention resides in the provision of a clamp arranged uponthe forward end of the hose adjacent the nozzle and having a pin pivoted thereon and extending therefrom andv having its `opposite end adapted for selective engagement within a plurality of spaced depressed portions provided in the channel for holding the nozzle and hose at a desired angle infspraying and watering objects at various distances and inclinations from the nozzle.
lith the above and other objects in view, the invention further includes the following novel features and details of construction, to be hereinafter more fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and pointed out in the appended claim.
In the drawing Figure 1 is a side elevation of the invention as applied to al hose.
Figure 2 is a top plan view thereof.
Figure 3 front elevation of the invention, as applied.
Figure i is a longitudinal section taken through the invention.
Figure 5 is a vertical sectional view taken on line 5-5 of Figure 2.
Referring to the` drawing indetail, wherein like characters of reference denote corresponding parts, the reference character indicatesr an elongated channel or semicircular plate carried by rearwardly extend ing arms 11 upon its under side and adjacent its forward end while inwardly and upwardly extending arms 12 are disposed upon the respective ends of the arms 11 and connected with the plate 10. Secured to the upper sides of the arms 12 adjacent the points of association with the plate 10 are outwardly extending apertured ears 13 provided upon the opposite sides of a semi-circular attaching flange 14 which when associated defines a circular portion between the y upper side of the plate 10and the corresponding inner side within'which an appreciable portion of a hose such as indicated at 15 may be rigidly held therebetween through the instrumentality of securing elements such as indicated at 16; The forward port-ion of the attaching flange 14 provides an upwardly extending portion 17 having an inclined portion 1S communicating with the bore thereof to permit the hose l5 to be raised to the respective dotted and full line positions as illustrated in Figure 1 of the drawings. i
In order to provide means for sustaining and holding the vforward end of the hose 15 and the conventional form of nozzle 19 secured thereto at an appropriate'angle we provide a clamping band 19 upon the `forward end of the hose 15 below the nozzle 19 which pivotally supports between spaced parallel apertured. ears 20 carried upon the extremities thereof to support a pin or bolt 21. Said bolt is passed through the upper looped end of a supporting rod 22 provided with a rounded lower end adapted for selective engagement within any one of a plurality of depressed portions 23 arranged in spaced aligned relationship within the upper side of the plate 10 in order that the nozzle 19 may be supported at different inclinations and heights in the instance of using the nozzle as a spray.
It is furtherto be noted that the above entitled invention may remain applied to the liose and offer no resistance nor interference to a person so using the hose by tion.
The invention is susceptible of various changes in its form, proportions and minor details of construction, and the right is herein reserved to make such changes as properly fall within the scope of the appended claim.
Havingthus described the invention, what is claimed is A hose holder comprising an elongated channeled plate having a plurality of spaced aligned depressed portions arranged in the channel portion thereof, supporting arms formed upon the under side and adjacent the forward. end of the plate and extending outwardly and rearwardly thereof, said arms 'communicate with inwardly extending supporting. arms secured to the opposite side edges ofthe plate adjacent the rear end portion thereof, a semi-circular attaching flange having outwardly extending apertured ears provided upon its opposite sides and secured to the upper side of the plate for securing an appreciable portion of the hose therebetween, the forward end of the attaching flange is upwardly inclined to perinit upward swinging movement of the hose, and a Clamping band secured to the forward end of the hose and having a pivotally mounted pin depending therefrom and terminating in a rounded end portion for selective engagement within any one of the 10 plurality of vdepressed portions in the Channeled plate for holding the forward end of the hose at a desired inclination.
In testimony whereof we aiX our signatures.
